I've never been to India. Although I'm unsure of the extremes that it is, from what you're saying it sounds similar (but not at the same level) as the US. It's extremely degrading to not hold a door for a woman which is shit and weird af. But I'm not talking about doors or seating or the simps. I do not agree with their actions or goal, all I'm saying is I can see that they're trying to create a forced and obvious 'opportunity' to encourage woman to work. They do the same shit in Mexico.

I understand how frustrating it can be and I'm sorry you have to go through that. The fight overall is for equity. I understand that their goal in this exclusion is to uplift and provide opportunities to woman in India, but the fact that it's happening more often than needed is digging a hole for those excluded.

I wouldn't call people brain dead for it. Popular articles about this scrimmage tend to leave out that it was just for fun so it could seem like it was actually something notable. It sucks, but we just need to get out of our tendency to trust one article about it.
