Thanks for being respectful. Anytime someone wants to have a discussion on this sub, it's usually met with a "fuck off" or other name calling. Also - this young girl was very bright, brilliant even, and creative, and drop dead gorgeous. I was so sad about her story, because she was wanting to save herself for marriage, until her world crashed. She was only 20 when this episode happened. People are really hard on themselves, and she was the hardest. She had a hard time forgiving herself for what she had done.

If you think the good parts of her will out weigh the bad, then I don't see any reason why you wouldn't want to take a chance on it. Everyone is different. Not all mania episodes are the same. Many times the good outweighs the bad. Everyone has quirks to their personality that will have to be dealt with by you. Do you think that, to be a good spouse, all you need to do is some formulaic things? Nothing special? Just have a job, provide a home, spank the children? I'm just curious.

It wasn't a friend of mine. I met her when I was a student. Typically someone with bipolar disorder has 9 manic or depressive episodes in a life time. All varying degrees, and most are controlled with meds. The first is usually the worse.
