Your sexual orientation doesn't necessarily mean you only end up in straight or gay relationships. You may do it to exploit the person or somebody else. Who knows. Being straight is not the same as being unable to go into a gay relationship, basically.

You can. You are straight as long as you agree you are straight and/or have a primary attraction to the opposite gender. Not to say that you can't identify as straight even though you actually are in a relationship with same gender. (Although it does raise questions, I'm not the one to ask those.)
