I can actually vouch for that couch. We got one a few months back, and it sees a lot of use. Worth every penny, makes a number of positions easier.

This. Any action you take from over there, she will have ample opportunity to mitigate it. Don't do anything that would make her suspect what's coming.

"Is there a difference between the six dollar version and the thirty dollar version? I don't see any more wolves." "Yes. Twenty-four dollars."

This feels autistic. I think you need to give less fucks my man. "You can't get rejected if you never initiate!" reads like a meme of that guy tapping his head. That being said, I think the idea of turning some casual comfort encounters into initiation could be useful--but just robotically doing so every time is super autistic.

Didn't I just see this exact same post this morning?

Why are you uncomfortable with her going to the bachelorette party? If it's because of money, as you initially seem to imply, then why didn't you just tell her that? If you're uncomfortable with her going to the party because you think there's a risk of cheating, then she'll smell that insecurity a mile away. Frankly, it sounds like you're letting one fight blow your frame all to pieces. You say you've never heard her say or do anything like this before, so it doesn't sound like a consistent pat…

Hey, if he's asking us if it's a bad idea then I'd bet good money his gut is already telling him it's a mistake

What are you gaining from this? And what are you risking? Only you know your circumstances. Frankly, I think whatever fleeting pleasure you might derive from the act itself would be badly outweighed by the possible consequences.

I gotta ask--What are the circumstances of the arranged marriage? Who arranged it and why?

Is this...Is this satire? Please tell me this is satire.

Uhhh...Might be a little Rambo there, buddy. Is there any chance at all she just didn't here you? Was she being deliberately shitty, or was she just distracted? I don't think this was a shit test.

You're going to give him the book with the note in it? What is this, third grade? Seriously, that just sounds super roundabout. If the topic comes up and if he seems ready to talk about it, maybe point him towards an appropriate piece of sidebar reading--whatever fits the conversation and his level of readiness best. Just handing him the book with directions on access to your super secret club feels autistic.

Joined 1/17/2018 1 post This is it I'm confused. You talk like you've been around these subs for a while--why did this piss you off so badly you had to make an account for it? You got rattled straight out of your frame and into a dissertation length post because somebody else thinks differently than you do?

A couple of people have mentioned already that you need to learn the language. That's going to help you do everything else that you need to (though with sufficient confidence and bravado you might be able to push through anyway). That happens to be an area that I'm really good at, so here. You pretty much "gave up" because you fell behind, whatever that means. Fell behind what? Who? A class? You're not competing with anyone here, you're just trying to learn the language so that you can be a func…

What the frick is this question even trying to ask? No one here is going to be able to peer into your life and tell you how fast or how slow to take it. It's all kind of irrelevant anyway. You should be working on you. Lifting, sidebar, OYS, etc. The changes those efforts have on YOU will happen as quickly as you put the effort into them. If you're just trying to ape alpha behaviors to get her to do what you want you to do, you're already in the wrong frame of mind.

STFU doesn't mean not talking at all. When we STFU, we're getting a lock on our feelings, we're not oversharing, we're not whining, complaining, begging, or emotionally puking. But STFU does not mean that we cut important communication. If your wife is bad mouthing you, it's an opportunity for you to set and enforce a boundary. Decide what you will tolerate and what you won't tolerate. When she does something intolerable (like insulting you, for example), tell her clearly not to talk to you that…

First five paragraphs were all so logically laid out. I definitely did not anticipate paragraph six.

I have no desire to punish her. Quite the opposite, and I have a hard time repressing the desire to over-appease her in situations like this. And I don't want to push the pendulum too far in the other direction, hence why I asked.

I wouldn't rule out the trying to kill me. I will get the last laugh however--my life insurance policy isn't nearly as large as she hopes. Kidding aside, I take your point. The correct time to offer the comfort she's looking for is when she's honestly owned the mistake.

Okay, yah, I see what you're saying. Withholding forgiveness once there's been a sincere apology is counterproductive for exactly the reasons you said. I thought I might be taking it too far to the other extreme, which is why I asked. She definitely treated it lightly in the moment it happened, which is why I let her know I was still angry.

Welcome to the club. You're describing things a lot of us have felt. Other guys have mentioned lifting and reading. You should definitely do that. My one piece of additional advice is to ditch the begging and cajoling for sex. I'm betting that when that works it leaves you feeling almost worse--no sex is worth sacrificing your self esteem for. I would cut that out immediately, even if it leaves you not having sex very often.

You are correct, of course, and like I said--I recognize that my being here is a result of my own choices. It's been a long journey to get even to this point. When I first found the sidebar material and started lifting months ago, I couldn't even express that I was unhappy, or what was making me unhappy. I just knew that something was wrong. Now I can, even if only anonymously. You guys, NMMNG, WISNIFG, Rollo, and all the other sidebar material have given that to me, and I'm the only person that…
