It's not irrelevant actually. Less violent offenders are less likely to reoffend. Also, women are far less likely to reoffend than men are. And the fact that there is a difference in such decisions comes back to my original point. Men don't believe men can be true victims. Laws and rules regarding these issues were decided by men and it's often male judges that choose to be more lenient to female perpetrators.

You didn't have to explain the meaning of bi-directional and uni-directional. Clearly you are one of those men that automatically treats women as stupid by default. I definitely have looked into this issue, it's part of my job. More often than not, the man is the initial instigator of bi-directional violence. Domestic violence against women is such a common and widespread occurrence that any research on the matter is skewed as so many women who report it are not taken seriously.

There are many countries where a woman requires her husband's permission to have her tubes tied, and not just underdeveloped countries. My mum had to have my father sign a consent form to have her tubes tied and I'm Australian.
