I do suspect that, with the exception of wars that had mass starvation events associated with them, it would still hold true that the vast majority of the casualties in any wars through history are male. Isn't it primarily men who have kept women out of the military? Even in this sub people get angry about the thought of women in combat MOS-es. I don't think the point is that there should be an equal amount of combat deaths, but rather that rightly or wrongly, men are, on average in a less privileged position in conflicts; whatever the cause.
