She's destroyed in court by female judge The part about dropping out of highschool and joining the army for a couple years is a major sticking point. The military doesn't take highschool dropouts anymore, maybe like 40 years ago. Enlistments are also for 4 years, minimum. Getting out in a couple years means injury or other-than-honorable discharge (which would make it hard to be a fireman). But, it could have just been a while back, and the story just glossed over it.
