I left my home at the age of 18 for a big city to study at a technical university. I then found a good job at the age of 24 and completely freed myself from dependence on my parents. His 1984 book wasn't even inspired by the Stalinist Soviet regime, he wrote this book while being exhausted with the paranoid atmosphere at the BBC company he worked for back in the Cold War days.
