my father wasn't in the picture until I was 7 years old and even then I moved out of the country couple of years later. My stepdad has been in my life since around 3 years old, and I've had other father figures in the ways of an uncle and grandfather who showed me basic things about being a man, like peeing standing up and respecting women. But there's always been something that's missing. I love my stepdad and he taught me plenty of valuable lessons, but it's always been difficult to connect wi…

It's unfortunate that you found out much later, and I'm sure that's undone some of the progress you've made. Trust is the most important thing. I think it's also unfair to hold new women in your life accountable for what others have to you in the past. You will never know if you can trust a woman with your heart unless you allow yourself to be vulnerable. Unfortunately, I think that's our burden to bear as men. However, building up your confidence and self-worth before entering the market is key…

This person is demonstrating his probable surprise as He states "bruh" in disbelief. But will even go as far as "lmao", or laughing his ass off, at your post/take.

I hope writing this out helped lessen the load. You lost a friend and companion and that's a much different type of grief than an older family member in my opinion. 16 is a fine run for a cat. Some do live to be older, some don't. If you loved her, cared for her, and kept her fed, then you did a fine job. It will get better, just not right now. And that's ok.

I hope that you feel proud of all the work you've done on yourself. You said you are now surrounded by less toxic people, and that's a HUGE win. Toxic/negative people will hold you back, no matter what you do. So just that alone is a fantastic step towards self-improvement. Hate to sound cliche, but it's incredibly difficult to love someone who doesn't love themselves. No matter how you look. Learning to love yourself requires you to be self-aware, and to be honest with yourself, which you alrea…

I have tried to curb unhealthy addictions and have been successful at a couple. Although alcohol is its own monster, here is What has helped me: being self aware (you are) talking about it (you are) not beating myself up over it when I mess up and indulge in the addiction, because i know that I'm trying to curb it. surrounding myself with positive people who care for me but don't berate me when I fuck up. being 100% honest with myself and others (seems like you are) You're already ahead of the g…

My friend, i used to feel the same FOMO and i lived in Miami. Literally could have anything i wanted, whenever I wanted. But it was still not enough. I longed for something deeper. Your feelings are totally valid. One thing I've learned is everything tends to be cyclical. Things will change and you will too. I essentially only have 1 real friend left from my younger days, and that's ok! Go do things you like to do and you will find yourself surrounded with like-minded people.

Glad the meds have helped so far. Has it affected your creative mind or process at all?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
