| 2 | Uber bans rider for life over threat to accuse driver of rapeOh I see what you are saying now. I really hope no one one would be willing to white knight this lady | /r/MensRights | 08/04/17 02:10 PM |
| 0 | Uber bans rider for life over threat to accuse driver of rapeA rape threat is not a death threat, like what? She could be charged with slander/extortion/assault but not threating a life. It may ruin the public part of his life but it's not a death threat. | /r/MensRights | 08/04/17 04:34 AM |
| 1 | Uber bans rider for life over threat to accuse driver of rapeyea someone else gave me some other cases with similar situation, she is very lucky hes not pressing charges | /r/MensRights | 08/04/17 02:13 AM |
| 3 | Uber bans rider for life over threat to accuse driver of rapeYea someone provided me a link to a similar case. A Girl threatened to accuse her ex of rape unless he paid her $2000. In this case she was ended up demanding a free ride otherwise she would accuse him of rape. The amounts are different but Its still extortion. I'm not gonna bother updating my comment but she did commit a crime if not multiple since she could also be charged with slander since threatening someone with false charges isn't something protected by freedom of speech. | /r/MensRights | 07/04/17 05:50 PM |
| 3 | Uber bans rider for life over threat to accuse driver of rapeThank you again for providing a source, it seems I was mistaken | /r/MensRights | 07/04/17 04:07 PM |
| 1 | Uber bans rider for life over threat to accuse driver of rapeOkay, I could see it as her getting an extortion charge epically if she was trying to get something out of the guy besides the use of a phone charger (free ride or something). Thank you for providing a source unlike the guy i was replying to. | /r/MensRights | 07/04/17 03:57 PM |
| 1 | Uber bans rider for life over threat to accuse driver of rapeWhy do you think he would be in jail for pressing charges if he has video of her assaulting him? I'm sceptical of the precedent of threatening somebody with charges will get you jail time. Saying you will press charges and not doing it is very different from filling charges that turn out to be false. One is someone blowing off steam where the other is lying to the cops and the courts. | /r/MensRights | 07/04/17 03:46 PM |
| 2 | Uber bans rider for life over threat to accuse driver of rapeCould you site that precedent? I'm curious how similar the situation is. As for her hitting him he's not pressing charges although he should. | /r/MensRights | 07/04/17 03:03 PM |
| -9 | Uber bans rider for life over threat to accuse driver of rapeI agree, someone yelling rape falsely could lead to a panic by those in the vicinity and that man's life could have been at risk by those trying to protect the "victim". But there is no legal precedent for this I think. I don't think anyone has been punished for falsely yelling rape. People have been jailed for false charges but not for simply saying it. If she tried to get the cops involved then she would have been screwed. P.S. is it illegal to shout rape when there is no rape? Is there a law … | /r/MensRights | 07/04/17 02:52 PM |
| 3 | Uber bans rider for life over threat to accuse driver of rapeI agree but the man said he didn't want to press charges. To him he doesn't get anything out of it and it'll end up being a pain in the ass having to go to court over and over | /r/MensRights | 07/04/17 02:04 PM |
| -28 | Uber bans rider for life over threat to accuse driver of rapeShe has freedom of speech though, I get what you are saying and I'm not defending her actions but this would need to be argued in court. She didn't threaten his life directly I.e. "I'm going to kill you". Granted she could of ruined his life but it's different the threatening his life. One is a threat to his social life and job opportunity while the other is the end of his physical life. Now he could have presssed charges and taken it to court but as we know she probably would of walked free. Sh… | /r/MensRights | 07/04/17 01:33 PM |
| 7 | Uber bans rider for life over threat to accuse driver of rapeUnless she formally pressed charges nothing will happen. Its just some crazy lady shouting shit and that's not illegal. | /r/MensRights | 07/04/17 01:10 PM |
| -4 | Uber bans rider for life over threat to accuse driver of rapeUnless she pressed charges there is no crime here, just some lady shouting crazy nonsense. If she did press charges then I agree and she should be locked up. | /r/MensRights | 07/04/17 01:07 PM |
