If a regular dude said something about being able to find another girlfriend no one would care or call it misogyny. Red pill has a whole mess of ideas which makes it reprehensible when they say it. They don't just believe they have other options - they call the women plates, sluts, etc. You're trying too hard to wash out the details so that on the surface everything can seem comparable but those are dishonest tactics. I can draw a lot of nonsensical comparisons if I don't look at the details and…

A) You're quoting Beyonce to make a point. What? She is not proof of the end of men, especially when.... B) You're completely misunderstanding it. Pretty much everyone is replaceable. When you break up with someone, you move on to someone new. This has happened literally billions of times. It has nothing to do with gender. A man could have, and probably has, sung a similar song. C) If men are 'affected by feeling obsolete' then they've got blinders on and also probably need psychotherapy. The po…

I haven't seen anything like that in mainstream media. Besides, if you're looking to mainstream media to validate your existence you'll be very disappointed - regardless of your gender. By the way, now that sperm banks exist, there's very little that men are actually needed for to promote the reproduction of our species. I don't know if that causes some subconscious social stress or not but it's really weird to think about that being how far science has brought us. Soon you'll have 100% petri di…

Haha you took a lot from a joking comment. No, there was no underlying hostility. By the way, being homeless or in prison aren't jobs (well, for some...) so your comparison kind of fails there. Those are other separate issues that merit their own discussion.

but we don't want 50% of garbage collectors to be women I'd take doing this job over a minimum wage part time fast food job. I love when guys bring up this argument because they're completely forgetting the fact that it's to their financial advantage that these jobs are available to them while women are mostly hired in horribly low paying jobs. I'm all for changing social attitudes so that women can get into unskilled but higher paying jobs so that men can be booted out of them into minimum wage…

The ideology as is practiced by many is toxic and it's like watching a trainwreck that I just can't look away from. I can appreciate wanting certain things in your relationship, but everything else is horseshit. It's comedic gold watching these guys lashing out at women on the "cock carousel." It's borne from jealousy and insecurity and watching them call women sluts just makes me laugh at them. If they were happy with their lives they wouldn't try to bring others down just to boost themselves u…

:( I can't imagine being as angry a person as you are. If you ever need to talk, let me know. I'm being sincere, not patronising.

Boy, you sure taught me to not suggest that men are capable of controlling their own reactions or to know how to temper a reaction to a given situation.

I'll be honest... that song has always turned me on and the female singing version is even hotter (probably because their voices are better and more sultry, and also because it's hot to hear a woman singing about wanting it!). It's not about assault, it's about getting your fuck on and women not being so sexually reserved (albeit in an unethical way since the lyrics indicate to me it's about cheating on her partner). And yes, I'm a woman feminist! I normally don't comment here but I loved that v…

but a lot deny women can rape. Additional thoughts on this... I've heard men say the exact same thing (women can rape? Dude, you're the one with the erection!). That said, I think men might say it for a different reason, as demonstrated in some of those images where the male friends think the victim should be getting fistbumped for getting laid. I think some women have this reaction due to sheer ignorance. I think a lot of women equate erection with arousal and desire for a person, and thus, a g…

There are the three or four "waves" of feminism currently recognized - at least from some of female gender studies courses I've taken. I actually really think they had their place. Some of the material is obsolete or could do with recognition that things have taken a swing upwards for women. Here's how I like to summarize them: First wave: give us basic equal rights! Let us vote! And don't shame us for wearing pants! Second wave: the 'Hilary Clinton' feminism is pretty divisive, but I still thin…

Let's hope no one else reads this conversation :P. I've tried saying that and got downvoted to hell (and with no explanation!). I've worked in some male-dominated fields and have encountered a lot of gendered issues. I've been the victim of rape, and domestic violence. However, it's not my day-to-day life. I think people forget that neither side, at least in developing countries, usually faces significant gendered issues on a non-stop basis. There are things that need to be ironed out, for sure!…

It sounds like neither of them are good for each other, and I'm skeptical about their ability to be solid role models for the child (especially the mum). One of the hardest things to deal with as an "outsider" is getting through to the victims. I've seen it numerous times with women where, despite the danger to their own lives, they can't leave until they are the ones who have had enough. Everyone has their point of what enough is and it's not easy to get through to someone who isn't already loo…

So should I assume people are strong enough to open a door by themselves and stop holding it for them? Reading into my words a bit much? I'm not disagreeing with you here, mate. I, too, think it's about courtesy. I'm simply offering a partial explanation here as to why I've known some guys to do it, and what my expectations are. zzzzzzzzz internet.

I lied! I want to comment on this bit: There are extreme feminists out there, and if you stick around here, you'll notice people posting links to news, videos, or articles that are either written by extreme feminists, or focus on them. I've seen the extremes posted. Frankly, it's weird. Fortunately, it's not that common. I think any kind of extreme, whether it's a feminist or MRA is harmful because than it ostracizes those who are productively working to achieve mutual respect/equality. You will…

That might be true in some areas, not so much in others. Some areas, people expect a certain degree of chivalry from others. I feel like I could respond to everything else that you're saying, but what I quoted there likely summarizes nearly all of the differences we'll encounter in our opinions. I'm from an urban area in a very liberal part of my country, and that's likely to be very differen than a rural area in a conservative portion of a country. Upvotes for your consideration and thoughts, t…

I expect respect. Is that me being a craaaaaazy wild feminist? God, I hope not. The "levels of chivalry" that you're saying women expect generally don't exist. Me and most women I know? I just hope you think we're capable, decent human beings who aren't somehow subservient or inferior, and then carry that out through your actions. This means not making jokes about why I'm not in the kitchen or bedroom, or being surprised that I'm actually going to stay at work late for a day to help my career al…

How many women you know assume men don't have the strength to do it? In my experience, guys offering that kind of assistance is borne from the idea that women are physically weaker and it would be kind to lend a hand. I've helped elderly men before, but I don't expect men to help me - an able-bodied and strong woman - to help me with something I actually can manage.

What stuns me are the unappreciative and dirty looks with a "thanks" begrudgingly uttered when I hold a door open for a man. This certainly isn't the case for all men, don't misunderstand me, but has certainly happened enough to me that it stands out in my mind. Can anyone help me out here why men feel emmasculated at this gesture? It's not just in my head either; I've heard, "I thought it was a man's job to get the door." So... what's the deal? I'm curious. Also, unless there's some cultural ga…

Wow, those are some really messed up numbers, from women and men. Doesn't really seem like one is too much better than the other. As an XX, I have to say that it is a bit annoying that the issue seems to focus solely on women deceiving men. This data makes it pretty clear that it's not the case at all, with men being slightly more likely to refuse contraception, and women slightly more likely to do it another way. Disappointing all around, I have to say. No one should be doing this kind of thing…

Pretty naive. You wouldn't protect someone you care for? I'm not saying all people would or should, but to act like it's absolutely crazy of them for doing it? That's weird.
