I've never dressed to impress women, but I prefer to dress well, when practical. There are a number of reasons, but one is that it can accentuate the power/masculine structure. Think Goodfellas, without the crime. There are times that it's impractical, as when collecting firewood, or remodeling a house. But it's nice to remind people that you can still "bring it".
