Just make sure you keep your future self in mind when making decisions. This a million times. You might not need commitment at 19 but things are going to look very different at 29 and 39...

Whenever I have rejected a guy it has not been about SMV alone, so I do not regret rejecting them. Their SMV may change but the other things that made me reject them does not. I haven't treated anyone badly though - I would indeed feel guilty if I had. It's not common/normal to treat someone badly because you don't like them or because the relationship doesn't work out. If this is happening to you, I encourage you to find some help.

The reason I married my husband was because we wanted both of us, and our kids to be protected. For example, if one of us was in a coma, a parent could fight to overrule the wishes of a girlfriend/boyfriend, but not a spouse. If I was to die and we were unmarried, the default would be for the kids to go to my parents. Yes there is paperwork you can fill out to say otherwise, but my parents could fight it. If we are married and I die, the kids go to him. I was going to stay home and raise the kid…

If both people have the goal to have a family, women have a time limit, while men don't. If a man and a woman get divorced at age 40, the man can still marry someone else and have children while the woman probably can't (without a lot of risks and maybe fertility treatment).

I haven't said "He works too much." or "I want him to stop working." You said you want more of his time. Where do you expect that time to come from? He can't make more time. In order to give you more time he has to take time away from something else and give it to you. Watching something on netflix with me then letting me take the bus home? That sounds like an average evening in an established relationship. He is tired and stressed from work but he still gives you some time and watches Netflix w…

I think you need to stop looking at things as "date/going out" vs "not a date/not going out" ... is the goal to be part of his life or to go out on dates with him? Is the family business and/or the "projects" something you could feasibly help with too? That would be more time together for you two, with the added bonus of his family seeing you being productive. Or could you go over and cook dinner with his mom while he works on a project at his house, or something like that? Maybe help his mom wi…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
