lol, classic dehumanization tool. You’re just a lump of flesh, too. I’m not sure how you think that makes the situation any better, either? u/unwantedfreakshow is saying the baby is damaged and broken apart during suction and scraping during early abortions that aren’t the pills, and that is exactly what happens. If it’s not 14-24 weeks, it doesn’t have a calcified cranium yet, but it has a head that is damaged during abortion. This is indisputable; we literally have photos of fetuses at 10 week…

I agree, a conscious evaluation of outcome (“I want to have a kid”) is more meta than instinct, but I think that’s semantical, because I don’t actually think that in my head. I typed it that way for better clarity, but in action it’s a primal sensation of nurturing first: I see children or other helpless creatures and have an overwhelming desire to take care of them. After the fact, I intellectualize the situation and extrapolate my ability to produce my own helpless creatures, and seek to apply…

I understand what you’re getting at, but maternal instincts and lust are still different. I feel a stronger maternal instinct now than I used to, where I see babies and feel a desire to have one, regardless of sexual fulfillment. My libido has increased too, of course, but there’s a distinction between the two.

I don’t even know why it’s debatable in the first place. “Let’s DELIBERATELY obstruct a fundamental biological process fine-tuned over millennia. What could go wrong?” LOL Also, it’s not an either-or thing. You can still choose to have no children, just through other contraceptive measures that are not hazardous to health. Anti-BC =/= pro broodmare female subjugation.

Absolutely not. I’ve never used hormonal birth control; it’s extremely mentally and physically detrimental to the body. The reason I never used to crave babies is because I was unhealthy and malnourished by mainstream health advice, notably “high grain, low fat” dogma. After ditching that idea completely and eating rich, fatty cuts of meat, my hormones skyrocketed and I actually started feeling something besides monastic asexual nothingness. Maternal instincts came with that. Who knew machines c…

I want tons of children for the same reason we breathe, eat, or sleep. It’s an instinctual drive that has no logical origin; either you feel it or you don’t. I didn’t used to feel it, but now I do after changing my diet to high fat. Lipid-based steroid sex hormones go AWOEUIQKKDHSHAOJSGDH

I haven’t lost it because I haven’t met someone I want to spend the rest of my life and start a family with. The thought of sex with anyone less than this is viscerally repulsive. I am not religious, either; these objections stem from practical disgust.

Coming from someone who had an irrational fear of driving as a kid, the whole thing is overblown. Seriously. Don’t pay attention to that percentage. Memorize what you need to memorize and practice driving until it’s second nature. You can fail multiple times, too, so just keep failing if you have to. I was fortunate to pass everything first try, but I was prepared to keep at it.

Prioritize outward appearance/validation too much. Of course, among people who also don’t care about their health and rely on validation, I’m sure it’s super hawt. By definition of being the guy she ends up with long term, youre not the best she had had. This rests on the massive, unfounded assumption that the best she encounters leaves her. I don’t kiss people on dates for purely sanitary reasons, no matter how sexually attracted I am to them. That’s basic self-preservation I’m disturbed you advocate against. Most people end up dating around before finding an LTR; if you kissed every single person, congrats: you now have herpes, strep throat, AIDS, and worse, are going to spread it to your SO. Diet and environmental factors play a massive role in reproductive health. It’s not who is “blessed” as much as it who is healthy. A lot of women (and men; everyone in general) eat the Standard American Diet, which is godawful for the endocrine system. This artificially bad environment creates artificially bad symptoms in women, resulting in artificially bad treatments (IUD’s and hormone disrupters). It’s a self-reinforcing cycle. This is not something that’s going to go away until everyone retu…

People tend to hold similar values, just different methods of achieving them. It usually isn’t a matter of “You’re against humanitarianism altogether, you evil, malicious human being,” but more of “You care about humanitarianism just as much as I do, but see X as a clearer path to it than Y.” When you understand most people are empathetic and well-intentioned, political differences become more tolerable, because now it’s not a discrepancy in fundamental values, but how best to achieve them, and …

Nobody consciously thinks “REPRODUCTION” when they see certain attractive features, you’re right. x) Just like nobody consciously thinks “SURVIVAL” when they smell delicious food. The creature simply feels good and bad, but feelings are founded on concrete matters, so although you will be able to enjoy sex and food just fine without ever intellectually contemplating their role in reproduction and survival respectively, that is where their “positive” identities originate from.

I believe people enjoy looking “hot” and “sexy” (opposed to aesthetically beautiful) in the first place only because it confirms reproductive viability, if only subconsciously. When you look sexy in the mirror, it makes you feel good not because of the characteristics themselves (who the fuck cares about skin, tissue, and bone, anyway?), but what they indicate to you for others: reproductive acceptance -> secured survival. There is no such thing as feeling “sexy for yourself.” What are you, self…

There is a hilarious disconnect between instinct and outcome going on. Women’s sexy, tight, hourglass body is drool-worthy exactly because it signifies fertility. It’s like that for babies, to get pregnant. EVERYTHING ABOUT SEXINESS IS FOR REPRODUCTION. Only in the modern age have we successfully divorced sexual attraction and reproduction from each other, but they are not separate in actuality. Any man who prefers indicators of fertility over actual offspring and the consequences that come with…

Height for men is just a sexually dimorphic trait. People like sexually dimorphic traits of the opposite sex. It doesn’t need to be any objective height; so long as there’s a relative difference between male and female it’s fine. People who lessen their dating pool by drawing arbitrary immutable lines of “excellency” are either going to improve their gene pool or go extinct. It’s a precarious line to walk.

If the physical ailment creating the mental health disorder has resulted in formative stunting, or permanent scarring/damage, I concede complete reversal is not possible. But there are many instances this is not the case, and even in such cases of incomplete reversal, it is still better than no reversal at all. Exactly. Somehow they still manage to dodge accountability despite blatant recorded concessions, though, usually by rewriting their mental state "I didn't know what I wanted at the time," "I was in a dark place," "He pressured me into it," etc.. The people who get upset about flings aren't usually the people who are seeking out flings. They're the people under the misapprehension of something more. There are many commenters here who relay their ONS ending in a mutual split, neither parties pining after the other. The act of sex itself can release momentary hormones that simulate attachment, even if there was no attachment at the beginning. I'm very happy it worked out for you guys. Long-term, intimate relationships can develop from shallow encounters, I don't dispute this. I dispute if shallow encounters undermine the validity of deep sentiment, i.e., "She fucked Joe on the first date and made me wait 3 months therefore Joe is superior in her eyes than me." A woman who doesn’t fuck a man as quickly as others is less physically attracted to him so she drags things out to see what she can get out of him as far as money, status, etc. This is one scenario that occurs, I won't dispute its existence. Women treat the men they want to spend their lifetime with better than the men that they are seeing casually. Casual flings don’t receive love, solicitude, sacrifice, or family. They get selfishly used as a dildo and are abandoned in the morning. If you think being treated as a sex object alone is wholesomely better than anything else, that’s your ideal, but most humans want to be valued more than that.

It’s not just men “not pursuing what they want.” Sometimes less advantaged people have to pursue a little less of what they ideally want. The “bond” (more like momentary sex high) created by great sex from a former hookup, FBW, or male stripper is no competition for the powerful bond of a loving, meaningful, intimate (compatible personalities), still sexually satisfying but relatively lesser because of worse technique relationship. Yeah, cheating happens in both sexes for various reasons (contempt, boredom), winding back to the unique emotional connection between the two people being eroded. Then we’re in agreement, I think. The more a relationship hinges on sexual gratification alone, the more at risk it is to sexual competition. We’re talking about women’s point of view here, not mens. And I’m a woman. Women experience post-nut clarity, too. Look it up if you don’t believe it. Sexual satisfaction matters in a relationship, this isn’t disputed. The question is whether superior sexual satisfaction (i.e., better orgasms) in the past i…

Women have mind-blowing orgasms from inanimate vibrators. They don’t need an emotional bond to get off. Sexual satisfaction can be achieved without emotional connection. Or do you not masturbate on your own all the time? Friction is friction. This is really basic stuff if you’ve ever had relationships with women. It’s even more basic when you are a woman, which I am.

The “emotional bond” created by momentary sexual pleasure is similarly momentary in duration. Post-nut clarity marks the end of it. It is absolutely not significant compared to the life-long emotional bond of interpersonal compatibility. Many people marry based off that fleeting, sexual “emotional bond” you’re talking about, and guess what happens? DiVoRcE.

OP’s distinguishing sexual experiences if she’s had better sexual experiences before Good sex is good sex, nothing more, nothing less. It is not equal to fulfilling relationships, or a holistic “best.” You’re committing a false equivalency by assuming strong emotional bonds = good sex, therefore good sex implies strong emotional bonds. All strong emotional bonds enhance sex, but not all good sex requires strong emotional bonds. Someone can simply have good technique. Dick size is brought up in t…

It doesn’t invalidate either way. Principles not founded on opportunity cannot be undermined by opportunity. Remember: happiness in life is not about having the best; it’s about having enough. The margin between “best” and “enough” isn’t sufficiently compelling.

This ignores the biggest adhesive of relationships: emotional bonds. People do not up and leave thriving emotional bonds for “superior” SMV like fickle, sex-crazed goats. People leave relationships that are already emotionally long-deteriorated. I would not leave my husband for a celebrity. You should be more concerned about preserving the integrity of your mutual emotional bond than a dude having a 0.39816cm longer shlong than you.

The male and female contributions to the reproductive process are not equal. Exactly. This is something I’ve mulled over too. Ah, I see. In your case you were proactive in the search, so that’s fair. It’s definitely a chicken-or-the-egg dilemma. I was still having co-ed baths with my siblings at that age, for goodness sake. Nudity wasn’t on anyone’s radar. Anyway, besides that, I think there’s a slight nuance that’s being missed. Possible scenarios: Men use porn because they can’t get sex. Men can’t get sex because they use porn. Most children find porn UNWILLINGLY. Mistakenly. They stumble across it. O…
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/21 01:50 AM

The point is porn use occurs before the desire for relationships/sex. Toddlers, prepubescent, and post-puberty boys can all have masturbatory impulses, but that is not the same as seeking out women and failing to get them. For porn to be a symptom of sexlessness, it needs to come after boys become interested in meeting women to have sex with, but fail for whatever reason.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/06/21 12:38 AM

Yeah, I won’t dispute that. Males in many species carry the burden of pursuing, which is slightly more effort, and if that additional effort is dissuading enough to not try, so be it. Self-extinction it is. For me personally, sheer sexual gratification doesn’t satisfy the desire for intimacy, so porn isn’t a 1-to-1 substitute. I really want to cultivate a relationship and family with a man, and that’ll never be fulfilled by porn.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/06/21 04:57 PM

I feel like that would be more believable if porn was taken up later in life in response to poor options, but kids get into it before/during puberty, long before dating, and have watched it as a habit for years before their first relationship.

There is a distinction that’s overlooked time and time again: love for others (attraction) and love for oneself (ego) are not the same, although they often look similar. Push-pull preys on the latter, ego, which is not genuine attraction. PUAs and RP operate exclusively on this, hence why their relationships are always short-lived. For external triggers: if I see an attractive man (face in particular), my heart leaps and I get butterflies in my chest. It’s a form of intense excitement, but I wouldn’t label it as horniness. This is achieved not by removing it completely, but managing the magnitude of its influence. Attraction and lust will always be there to some extent, just like hunger will gazing at food; it’s the magnitude that matters, because magnitude is what results in poor judgement/choice. Impul…

I guess for me it’s the difference between canned jokes and spontaneous humor. Anyone can memorize comedic lines, but not everyone can be spontaneously funny. It’s spontaneous flirting that hits the best, not scripts or heuristics. For sure, a broad-stroke analysis of patterns is a useful starting point, but the meat of it is going to be your ability to come up with things on the fly, and that can only be partially trained.

Every woman’s boundary is different. You cannot learn a general rule for flirting; it’s an individual-basis thing that’s fluid and adaptive. We’re essentially talking social awareness here, and you either have it or you don’t.

I do not flirt with people I’m not interested in. I tease everyone constantly, irrespective of gender, however, which can simulate it to some extent. As for flirting, I’ve never understood the “learning how to flirt” notion. Unless you’re autistic (which a lot of people are here, unironically), flirting isn’t a learned behavior anymore than smiling or laughing is. I never “learned” how to flirt. It’s completely intuitive and based on individual circumstance. I knew how to do it at six years old,…

Women don’t have to sacrifice anything for their kids if they don’t have kids (abortion). lol, of course you don't have to sacrifice anything for something that doesn't exist, but abortion isn't equivalent to "not having kids"; abortion exists in the first place because people do have kids that they want to get rid of. Thank you for your input. The key word is bodily autonomy, this is true for both men and women, but your argument is equating women's bodily autonomy to men's financial autonomy. That's apples vs oranges Hmm, I suppose I don't see how it's apples and oranges? If people have autonomy over their bodies, and money is a representation of their bodies, they should have autonomy over their money, as well. To take one's money is to take one's toils in obtaining that money, which involved energy expendi…

Sounds like you're simply arguing degrees of severity, which is shaky, in my opinion. There are many instances I can think of where the man's biological sacrifice to obtain those few hundred dollars a month is comparable to pregnancy, like (as I mentioned to another commenter) working in the coal mines, or any other stereotypical "male" job around dangerous machinery that involves lots of intense labor and injury, and sometimes death. But again, it's less about the severity of the sacrifice as m…

Thank you for sharing your perspective. If men could get pregnant there would be no pro choice vs pro life arguments bc the pro choice narrative would be the only acceptable one. This is an arbitrary assumption of outcome that's not necessarily true. Men are not exempt from the same logic and cognitive dissonance associated with it in my post. This doesn't directly address my claim. Nature has placed the burden of life bearing on women, there is no equivalence to men. "Life bearing" is a degree …

I appreciate the statistics. Thank you, I wasn't aware of those figures. :) With all due respect, though, I don't see how this challenges my claim. It's the equivalent of telling women who want an abortion "Come on, it's just 9 months. Get over it." It doesn't address the point that they shouldn't have to sacrifice anything if they don't want to.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/03/21 05:04 AM

Thank you for the response. :) The adoption process takes several months, during which parents lose biological resources in the meantime. Since they are not obligated to sacrifice any resources to any degree for any duration of time, they are permitted to withdraw them at any moment, even if it ends up killing the child. If mothers were just willing to wait 9 months to birth their children and give them away, there'd be no need for abortion, but the point is no one's obligated to sacrifice their…

Yup. And showing you care about the other person by checking in with them doesn’t “kill the mood,” either. Some men are just selfishly gluttonous about their sexual gratification that they’d rather risk traumatizing another person over missing out on a quick nut. #pRiOriTiEs

Agreed. That territory is precarious enough that inferring positive intent is not worth the risk of being wrong. Push/pull and playing hard-to-get are integral components of the mating dance leading up to sex, but rarely during or right before. Maybe to a niche type of woman, but not to the majority at all. In the majority of cases, resistance is genuine refusal (half-hearted due to agreeableness, not coyness), and it’s not worth playing with fire like that.

100% platonic opposite-sex friendships exist only between family members. Everything else is some mixture of sexual interest, be it large or small, due to sheer heterosexuality alone. Women use "just friends" as a shield of plausible deniability to obtain validation from men. Men use "just friends" as a shield of plausible deniability to someday convince women to be more than that. In either case, both are not "just friends," even if they're willing to pretend. Opposite-sex friendships must rema…

From abstract to less abstract: Intelligence is being able to understand the nature of existential objects and their relationship to each other for it. Intelligence is having the discernment skills to correctly gauge something’s behavior (be it an object, situation, or concept) and its effect on other things (so as to be able to project useful outcomes). Intelligence is the ability to understand what something is and its cause-and-effect. This encompasses many abilities. It does not necessarily …

Equal treatment, I get it. The distinction between obligatory financial support versus biological is precisely what I’m disputing, though. A distinction shouldn’t exist in the first place. Why is it morally acceptable to not sacrifice biological resources for a dependent, but morally reprehensible to not sacrifice finances (for both sexes, even, as you claim)? No one should have to sacrifice resources for a dependent, biological or financial. I argue both men and women aren’t obligated to biolog…

The main difference between any racial cleansing and abortions is that abortions are about personal choice. The component in the Nazi analogy I'm highlighting is the reduction of human value in favor of X group's interests (usually deemed 'society' or 'the greater good,' even though in actuality it's never so humanitarian). There is no distinction between a pregnancy and a child. A pregnancy is a child, so you can rephrase Yes, and from a society point's of view it's better to terminate unwanted…

If women are not biologically obligated to support their children, men are not financially obligated to support them, either. ;) Why should women be able to eliminate children from their lives, but men not? She aborts the child from her womb, he aborts the child from his wallet. She doesn't need his consent to do so because it's her body, and he doesn't need her consent to do so because it's his money. What you're saying: I'm saying that it's mostly practicality. Morals aren't always really practical. What I said: The most fundamental type of morality is innate empathy and herd instinct. It exists as a form of social security for the in-group and prioritizes the collective over the individual. In strictly practical terms, it is a good tool for social cohesion for survival's sake. Morality developed in pack creatures for practicality's sake due to its survivalistic advantage. You seem to be arg…

This is my take. Disclaimer: I am not an RP sympathizer. Cynicism toward human nature is not unfounded. TRP is correct in its analysis that selfishness governs women's actions, their love is conditional ("she's not yours, it's just your turn"), and they manipulate everyone around them to get what they want. What it fails to acknowledge is this isn't a female trait; this is a human trait, and men, including you, possess all of them, too. You are selfish, your love is conditional, and you manipula…

So in a world where pure physical strength is key, men have the clear advantage. When that advantage is reduced or erased, sexual dimorphism matters much less. I 100% agree. In terms of modern-day practicality and the direction humanity is trending, physical sexual dimorphism is obsolete. However, I'd argue there are still psychological vestiges of it in sexual selection, which contributes to relationship satisfaction. A lot of men wish they could just find a submissive woman, and a lot of women…

My apologies; I wasn't trying to be disrespectful. I just felt like speaking French all of the sudden (don't ask why). I genuinely didn't understand your point, though, so thank you for editing. Allow me to repeat back to you your argument so I can avoid mistakenly strawmanning you: You're arguing sexual dimorphism exists not as an indication of survival, but as an indication of same-gender mating competition. By this, I'm assuming you mean men are not stronger than women to help the species to …

But the problem with this thinking that this is their design, their proper function, is that it can easily drift into a naturalist fallacy ethic or notions of natural law. I agree, that is a common fallacy to slip into. but if you come to the conclusion that it has a teleological function that one has to deny to do otherwise, in its implications it raises questions about the validity of doing otherwise Amazingly well-said and important point to keep in mind when making value-judgements unto matt…

'Design' often carries heavy connotations of "intended purpose," so I understand why you came to that conclusion, but that's not what I meant at all. By 'design,' I meant 'evolutionarily refined according to random environmental pressures to a similarly random specification of qualities.' Those qualities are not one's obligate purpose, they just exist. Look, you have legs; would it be accurate to say you're designed to walk, then? Now, technically evolution is an unintelligent process without in…

Yup, it's a different ball-game for the modern world. I might still argue that psychological vestiges unto gender roles remain, however (preparing for the onslaught of social contempt for thinking this). The modern age frees people from a realistic need to abide by gender roles through eliminating the parameters that forced their evolution in the first place, but it doesn't free people from the sexual engineering that took place. Even though women no longer need a strong, tall man to protect the…

My point was that sexually dimorphic differences in strength between sexes is great. 'Great' is relativistic and can apply to a 50%, 75%, or 100% strength difference. Whether or not I'm only 20 lb of strength below my brother because I work out, or 45 lb from not working out, the point is still the same: a great difference in strength exists between the sexes. But I do understand your point; by removing other variables and possible sources of outside error a more compelling conclusion can be dra…

In a modern society these roles have somewhat disappeared. Guns have leveled the playing field for the vast strength difference between men and women. Indeed, as I replied to someone else, by no means are gender roles a death sentence, or something people have to abide by in a modern society. My argument is not that they cannot or shouldn't be overcome, only that they do exist based off design.

Sure, technological advancement has allowed us to move beyond gender roles and supplement for deficiencies that exist, in health and elsewhere. We are no longer confined to the limitations of our genome; people with poor eye-sight can buy glasses, and men with poor physical characteristics can buy sex-dolls. By no means are gender roles a death sentence, or something you must abide by. My argument is not that they cannot or shouldn't be overcome, but that they do exist based off design.

Depends on the person and their priorities. If they want to maximize commitment and emotional intimacy (like me), virgin man is better. If they want to maximize physical satisfaction, non-virgin man is better (but only in the short-term, because the virgin man will presumably get up to speed really quickly after a few sessions and communication, matching the experience of the non-virgin man eventually). In terms of long-term survival, producing offspring isn't sufficient alone; raising them to be successful is equally as important. A successful childhood involves a father. There's nothing wrong with this, as "wrong" connotes moral objection, and moral objection is an intrinsically subjective matter. Instead, things are variably wrong and right depending on what value-system they're measured against. Depends entirely on life goals. When I was younger, I prioritized passion exclusively: "We can live in a cupboard so long as we have each other." The whole 'Disney fairy-tale soulmate' nine yards. This was before I wanted kids. Then I came to want 20 children and realized the financial reality of it. Now income matters alongside passion. Both are important, and I wouldn't wish to settle for a relationship without passion, but if we're talking strictly practicality, income matters more.

A man without respect from his peers is by definition lowest in the social hierachy, which is a very bad place to be. I completely understand the incentive to not show weakness, especially for men. Status is more consequential to them than it is to women, so they suffer more for its loss and thus try harder to preserve it (manifesting through not asking for help). I was browsing through the comments not intending to contribute anything, but kept seeing a conflation of two things, so goddammit I have to say something. Exactly; women respond to relative difference. This can be achieved either by a positive increase (the man enhances his qualities to be higher-status than the woman), or negative decrease (the man tears down the woman to simulate higher-status in himself). The former scenario is by far healthier than the latter, but that perception of higher or equal status is essential. No one wants to intentionally downgrade for nothing in return.

From a reproductive standpoint, both sexes seek to be desirable to one another. Nature accomplishes this through sexually dimorphic characteristics, such as muscles in men and curves in women. This process of presenting, or posturing (as described in the animal kingdom), a sex’s secondary characteristics is often referred to as “sexualizing” …
