Positive discrimination itself is a touchy subject for sure, and equally subject to the unconscious biases I put in my other comment - the New Yorker magazine did a good write up about this very subject a couple of years ago, let me dig it, such a fascinating subject - https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2020/01/20/have-we-outgrown-the-need-for-affirmative-action

That’s 100% incorrect (for me) equal opportunity is about bringing everyone along for the ride

We’ve been trained quite extensively in recognising and tackling unconscious bias. There are a couple of bits of natural human psychology to overcome to do your best to be objective. There are several layers to unconscious bias. Affinity - they’re like me (or it’s counter - they’re not) Halo effect - they did this great thing, everything else they do is great (e.g. they went to Oxford university, wow) Home effect - the halo effect in reverse (oh, they didn’t attend prestigious university, they c…

I do quite a lot of recruitment, our approach actively tries to be gender neutral and race neutral (English not your first language, ok we’ll deal) we focus on what can you bring, what can you do and what can we bring and do for you. It’s really working well!

“Toxic masculinity” by this commenter’s definition is literally the fact that testosterone exists. I’m very much of the mind that channelling natural hormones to a positive end, namely weight loss (for me anyway), muscle growth and self esteem growth of course, is a positive

I’d have written... As openers go, this makes you sound thick and vapid as fuck. Expecting me to impress you, with a text message, which could have been copied and pasted from somewhere, a bending of the truth or just an outright lie. Whilst you process this message, I’ll be continuing to have great conversations and meet up with real people who are quite frankly less work and have more worth than you. If you want to reply to this message, go ahead, don’t bore me though.

I’m doing a keto diet on a cut right now, but I’ll be straight with you, keto and lifting are pretty much at odds with each other, I use a modified keto where carbs are required eveyr other day on lifting days and then strict max 30g carbs on no gym days, I lost 2 stones and have subsequently gained 1 stone, but my belt is getting loose... Lift, heavy and routinely, you’ll be needing calories to keep you alive Disclosure because I don’t OMS Squat: 107.5 kg Bench: 47.5kg Row:70kg Deadlift: 110kg …

I’m a single dad. I came back home from a foreign holiday with my daughter (she’s 7) and for the first time ever at border control I was asked if I had her birth certificate to prove my connection to her, like the surname wasn’t enough. I now need to travel with my daughter’s birth certificate to prove I’m not a kidnapper (his words). I’m not really a conspiracy minded kind of guy, but I’m guessing no woman has ever has been challenged in that way.

Do you know why it’s called a Kilt? Because that’s what happened to the last guy who called it a skirt

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
