It's not surprising if toy marketers aim at their audience if they know their toy is more popular with boys than with girls. I'm not going to blame barbie for not marketing their dolls to boys and I'm not going to blame Tonka Trucks for marketing to boys.

I understand that the vast majority of abuses are carried out by the mother I am pointing out that the vast majority of children are also primarily cared for by the mother so it's misleading to say that women as a group are more likely to abuse a child. Let me put it this way: Saying "A child is more likely to be abused or neglected by a woman than a man" is much less misleading than saying "A woman is more likely to abuse or neglect a child." There are overwhelmingly more women acting as primary caregivers of children so it would only make sense that there would be more instances of women abusing children than men but this doesn't necessarily mean that if you picked an average woman off the street that she is more likely than an average man to abuse a child.
