somehow everything is systemic until that leads to a conclusion you don't like. a population of people acts and achieves things in a certain way because of, and only because of, the conditions it uniquely experiences. if men are falling behind in school there is a systemic reason for that similar to how women were behind for much of the last century.

im not saying that they all pass, or even most, but I thought it was accepted that passing as a trans women is more difficult, although Idk that's just what I'v read.
/r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates09/04/21 07:17 PM

also it's easier for trans men to pass than trans women to pass, so you probably notice fewer trans men in your day-day life than the statistics would show.

yes I have! I go to a very left-leaning university, and I'v made plenty of traditionally feminist friends. Something I have learned is that a lot of people who describe themselves as feminist aren't necessarily tied to the "kill all men/men are pigs" sect of feminism, and a few discussions in good faith can lead them to the conclusion that men matter too. That not everything about being a woman is bad etc. I'v won many people over to the view of gender-abolishionism, although I am young so the p…

I never made such a claim; I'm asking you how you came to your conclusion that it's easier for men, and yet you seem like you don't have any support?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/21 10:57 PM

you're ignoring the point? you're making a claim about who dating is better for. simply describing one of the necessary conditions to date does not support your argument in any way.
/r/PurplePillDebate22/01/21 10:54 PM

ok but all of these expectations are placed on men; what exactions are social placed on women in this scenario for dating? literally none

But they are, as shown by actual data

That’s great, your anecdotal individual experience is meaningless compared to actual data. For someone in stem you seem fairly unable to understand statistics well enough for your claimed expertise.

so you said their salaries are shit, I showed you that most major's make a very decent salary, and most majors are not "worthless". then you pivot and say that they don't have jobs, and I show you that these "useless majors" actually are employed and make a good salary. then you mention loan forgiveness? what? I don't care about your opinion on loan forgiveness, your opinion on major salaries is just wrong. full stop.
/r/PurplePillDebate03/01/21 04:53 AM

so I show you the average salary data of over 1.4 million people and your response is "LOL they don't have jobs"? for someone who loves STEM so much you seem to be incapable of accepting scientific evidence that you're wrong. Very few college majors are "worthless" and ironically many of them seem to be hard STEM majors. Also considering the unemployment rate by major doesn't really very that much, and they're all under 10% this data is very representative of realistic salary expectations mid-ca…

http://online.wsj.com/public/resources/documents/info-Degrees_that_Pay_you_Back-sort.html this is the result of the largest study done on major salaries, political science outperforms business, very few majors are "worthless", mid-career salaries of philosophy majors are only 15k less than CS majors. Sure SOME stem majors are on top, but the difference is not all that pronounced. stop echoing stemlord bullshit that has no basis in reality

there could also perhaps also be some sort of artifact being caused by newer accounts that are more likely to be labeled as average

So you just not understand the concept of sociology? People make choices because of their conditions, people’s conditions are highly shaped by the gender they exist as.

BMI is a guideline not a rule, for most people it will be generally accurate, and yeah of course the greek god will be labeled as obese because he's an exception.

you missed the entire point of my comment. also, emotions are tools developed in childhood, you realize this right? This is why people who experience extreme trauma have emotional disorders? Like teachers get teaching on how to develop healthy emotional responses to things in children. Women are taught to embrace caring emotions, while are taught to men embrace anger, which is also an emotion.

the living definition of strawman
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/20 07:30 PM

nice straw man, wasn't what I was saying. you're making the affirmative claim on no evidence. you're presupposing the importance of biology in social behavior to a huge extent. THAT HAS TO BE PROVED. Just because something makes sense to you doesn't make it the case, again. I'm just going of the off the evidence, you're creating stories.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/20 07:29 PM
2

no? human behavior is the study of social science, if you're trying to link social behavior with biology, it by definition, is a social science. and those areas by definition cannot "directly support" it as that isn't what that area of study is concerned with.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/20 07:26 PM

What you’re doing is what we call shitty reasoning, just because something seems to be the case doesn’t mean it is. You can describe literally anything biologically because you can never prove or disprove it. I could also say that conservative people are biologically predisposed to be more prone to nationalist rhetoric, it makes sense! Doesn’t mean it’s the case
/r/PurplePillDebate15/11/20 01:18 AM

you're making the affirmative claim by looking at a complicated system and saying "wow human biology works this way!", which is rubbish. The entire premise of what your saying rests on the legitimacy of human biology majorly impacting complicated and high level social interaction, which is a contentious claim at best at best and not directly supported at all by social-science. i'm not saying anything, i'm just looking at the evidence that we have. There been few/no studies that have found a caus…

yes every action that is done socially is entirely biologically wired and has nothing to do with anything else what so ever..... /s

because men can't, by definition, and be successful. Because that's not the gender role. that doesn't mean that you can't find one and approach them and initiate. A man doesn't need to be"sitting around" to approach them. From a game theory perspective, a woman who jumps on a good man will be the most successful person in the whole game.
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/20 08:14 PM

what you're saying makes no sense, if an attractive/good woman has a greater ability to chose her partner than even a good/attractive man than that GUARANTEES her better ability to chose a good man more so than a man has the ability to chose a good woman. Your specific circumstance doesn't paint the trend
/r/PurplePillDebate08/11/20 07:41 PM

you're acting like guys don't want women to approach them? that's most definitely not true, even good/attractive guys will get rejected more often than good/attractive women. you're trying to say here that it's easier for men because they can choose, but WOMEN ALSO HAVE THAT ABILITY, and they can do it easier than men.

because your argument for why it works doesn't logically follow, it's like saying the reason the sun rises is that the moon is made of cheese. I mean yeah the sun rises, it doesn't mean it's because the moon is made of cheese.

I do too, and they are constantly udner barrage by comments from friends/ reletives giving them job applications and what not. Not to mention how no woman wants a man who's goal is to become a stay at home man

it could also be the conservative people tend to be more wealthy, more wealthy people have the resources to better care for their apeareance ETC. also democrats tend to be less white, white people are usually the most comonly associated with beauty so there could be a societal bias there.

The odd thing is that you're implying that you are justified to hold your position while the opposite lacks evidence, while in reality your position is actually less strong because it stems on the implication that humans would be the only mammals not affected by their biology and that behaviors seen across time and space would not be based on biology but on cultures even though those depend on time and space. ok first of all you're straw manning me so hard, when did I say human behavior is not a…

talkin to a wall, "you can factor out individual behaviors from a group", yikes your understanding of this is sourly lacking. you say with such authority, but no proof. I read a study that looked at mating strategies in apes, and found that if you lower the Male:female ration of the apes to 44:56 the the gender roles of the situation would completely flip, the males would become choosy. The actions they took in a social sense was determined by the environment. "And it's not as though there are a…

I'v never said the biology doesn't drive human behavior, but its very difficult abstract cognitive science to grand social behavior as you can never separate the individual from the society. you're trying to claim that our social behavior is ingrained, that is a huge leap from "we aren't blank slates". Even if social behavior is ingrained that doesn't mean it necessarily explains conditions of modern society. There's like 3-4 tiers of evidence you need to prove what you're saying, that you lack.…

and? I never argued that people are blank slates, I said there may exist a social blank slate. " Emotional responses, such as disgust, are evidence that behaviors are to some degree hard-wired" all this says is that there are some responses that are wired, this does not say that social behavior is hard wired. "particularly when the same behavioral patterns are observed across cultures." again this doesn't mean anything. If there is similar stimuli in a certain area across cultures, even in a wor…

ok you don't have proof of that, you have a story that is post-hoc justified. You can essentially say what you said to justify anything ever, I can very easily create a story that says the exact opposite: my story: In order for humans to evolve beyond simple hunter gatherers in Africa, they had to develop a sort of social blank slate, this would molded by the culture they were born into, to allow humans to spread across the globe. An early human's culture he was born into was largely determined …

I genuinely don't understand this constant appeal to biology when we're asking ourselves questions based on societal perception? technically you can just say "it's biology" to justify any action any one takes ever about any topic

no I think women would rate eachother on a bell curve similar to how men do. there's a tiktok trend right now where girls/young women are saying that "They've never seen a straight couple where the guy is more attractive than the woman". I think this is why women rate men as low on the totem pole, women want to "hold out for the man who deserves them", even if the woman knows she's a 7/10. She doesn't want to date a 7/10 man, so she rates him lower than her

the attractiveness of a partner is a status symbol, in traditional gender roles a successful man is rewarded with an attractive partner, and vice-versa.

to be fair though. Having sex for the first time really did take off the monolithic attitude i had as a virgin have towards it. At least it made me more comfortable with who I was.
