Sometimes it works, not for me personally, but my dad married a divorced woman (my mother) and had two of his own kids with her (she had two girls) and we became a family of 6!, we had great years together and my sisters treated me and loved me better than my full bio brother, and they loved my dad and he loved them, but I understand the feels yours after with your own bio kids.
