Sooner or now might be a good time, it would lower your income (actually make it zero or negative while going to school) and if the courts care at all that should lower your payments, and afterwards you can help lower the payments yourself. From what I've read about some colleges, it might be a school rule, possibly enough to get expelled over. But it really only matters how she feels the next few days (technically taking your pants off in front of someone is against the law, but if they like it they don't complain. I'm really not sure if a direct democracy would have parties, or need a specific leader, if everyone has an equal vote there's not much for a "president" to do... but there's always exceptions I guess, like war probably. Without parties trying to attract everyone I'm not sure there would be a "race to the bottom", or if they did head towards "the bottom" maybe that's really where the majority of people's values really lie... But I'm just guessing, I haven't investigated it much, so I'm not sure …
