I have a post in drafts about an idea I've had for a while. It's that for all intents and purposes your personality is simply an extension of your looks and appearances. There are multiple studies showing that attractive people are perceived as being funnier, more intelligent, competent, and even more moral and trustworthy. To think that any one of us is an exception who can objectively perceive someone's personality as separate from their appearance is delusional.

When I travelled around Europe this summer, I was watching their news. There were a lot of complaints about lower standards of living, inflation, and a stagnant economy. Migrants were supposedly to blame for all this. Europe lagging economically may have something to do with the fact that it's completely normal to take a month off of work for holiday and take several months off for parental leave. They could also start by having businesses that are open past 5pm.

The pathways activated are well understood. It slows digestion and endogenously releases hormones that regulate blood sugar and satiety. Partially true it's been used as a diabetes medication for decades but the glp-1 drugs are more effective as a weight loss medication. Semaglutide has a short half life which made it less effective for weight loss. Glp-1's from NN and Eli Lilly added enzymes, no joke, copied from lizards that made it more bioavailable in the blood stream. This was the key innovation.

That's huge news. I kinda figured it would get to a proposal by the way you talked the relationship, really excited for you. As for work, I kinda felt the same way about my new job and new city but taking some time off helped reset my mind. I'm doing good overall. There's very few downsides from what I've read. Minimal lean muscle loss and the drug is expensive. I don't equate being overweight with laziness. At one point in life maybe but I've met a lot of people who excel in other things but struggle with weight.
