I've had this exactly debate on reddit- the people throwing out "incel" as an insult are part of the problem. It's a cheap, petty insult that has lost all meaning. When someone uses it to insult someone, I immediately assume they don't have anything to say worth listening to.

People who insult incels are actually perpetuating toxic masculinity. It says more about them than the person they are insulting. I consider being called an incel a compliment.

A man is told to express himself. He is told that toxic masculinity is why he cannot express himself, because he is trapped by harmful gender norms. So then he expresses himself, and is called a misogynistic incel.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
