Bravo, didn't have high hopes for someone to have the correct answer here, but there it is! Nice. It's pretty hard to enjoy life when you are forced to go to school, work, etc. It only becomes worse when you add some drama producing gf on top of it all. The only thing we can do is make it easier on ourselves as much as possible and enjoy as much of it as we can.

This is a horiffic idea for any average guy. If you have an interest, high emotional strength, above average IQ, and some money to lose you particularly dont care about then go for it. If you're not down to teach yourself hundreds of hours worth of risk management, you will fuck up somewhere along the way. Don't do the masters, don't do the doctorate. You will either want part time work to coast or full time and a half work to save and invest a large amount of money and retire in your 30s. Do everything you can to come out of school with little to no debt. Make it a priority above all else. This is something fairly unique to me, but I tried currency and stock trading and it turns out this is the only thing in life I have some talent for. I was aiming for retirement at 35, turns out trading allowed…

I currently live in the UK You can't unless you're willing to move to a very low cost of living country once you save up the equivalent of today's 300k You'd need around 600k for cheaper UK areas, and that will take you forever to amass. 300k = 1k/mo and 600k = 2k/mo I guess 300k would fly in UK far away from any major city
