The backslash is used as an escape character such that when I type “\_italics_” it will just print the underscores around the word whereas omitting it would result in “_italics_”. An addendum: I had to type 3 backslashes to get that first quote to appear the way I wanted it to. One backslash for the backslash, another for the underscore.

Case by case is always a thing but more often than not, given certain variables in place, people will make extremely similar decisions. This describes my struggle with my ex before I discovered you wonderful bastards. I kept trying to "make it work" and she was incessantly trying to get someone (read: me) to "fight for her, to keep her". I'm amazed I spent as much time in that poisonous hell as I did. Stay classy guys.

Alright, so he did the job, but unfortunately the good stuff wasn't aired. I mean the questions and their responses could be prepared for beforehand. But you guys are right in that only some was allowed through the good old censor. I disagree that she came out looking better. Maybe to her fans, all foaming at the mouth and crying out for male crucifixion. Hopefully more of those on the fence chose truth over everything handed to them.
