Unfortunately, the reality is that he won’t change if he needs to be rewarded for being a decent human being.

I just dumped a guy who told me that the best thing about me is that he thinks I’ll be a good mom and raise kids very well. I asked him what about him and he just stared at me like WTF? And slowly said, “Oh of course, me too.” I really want kids some day and he had also said he will eventually try to come around to the idea. There were many other issues (veiled talking down to was a big one) so I finally dumped his ass. I needed to read this today. Thank you.

This is an excellent question. I don’t have any specific answer or advice. I’m happy to share thoughts and learn of yours or any other’s thoughts as well. Yeah, that makes sense but what’s gross is setting up a date and then ghosting or just not communicating. At least follow through with it and honestly say they’re not interested. I’ve done this and most guys seem to take it in stride. Or they pretend to and are pissed. Either way, I don’t care. But is it too much to expect the basic decency of properly cancelling beforehand?

What confuses me is then why do they bother setting up the date in the first place? Like wtf? I haven’t really got stood up, but had dates postponed with vague reasons and then they just stop communicating. It’s weird.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
