If that's your definition of friend then I agree with you. But it doesn't sound like OP's "friends" are that. Personally I would call work or school acquaintances friends and I'd call what you described close friends or best friends.

Completely depends on the type of friendship you have. The devil is in the details. Red Flags: Having only male friends. This one is kind of obvious. Having male friends who want to have sex with you, have wanted to do so for a while and try to do so on a regular basis. It shows that they cannot respect boundaries and that you do not respect yourself enough to cut that person off. Being flirtatious or overly intimate with male friends. Complimenting each other's looks, holding hands with them, c…

Nobody is talking about Instagram pictures or duck lips or thirsty orbiters. OP just said male friends, you filled in those other blanks. It sounds like you're just projecting your caricature of male-female friendship onto OP's situation. If this is false it matters not that will be the perception. This is also untrue. It might be your perception, and it could quite possibly be a false perception. Many people are quite capable of having mature and healthy male-female friendships.

I know some refugees. They're ok. Just people, some of them are cool, some of them are shitty. But what kind of moron goes around yelling I love refugees, I love Muslims. Really? Well here's a 1 way ticket to Saudi Arabia if you love it so much.

I never said she wasn't rightfully detained. I said I have mixed feelings about it. You can admit that a law was properly upheld without necessarily feeling good about it, when the law in question is a dumb one.

Neither would I.

Driving 1 mile over the speed limit is also against the law. But if a cop gave you a speeding ticket for it you'd probably think he was being an asshole. I get that cops should enforce the laws as they are on the book. That doesn't mean they can't show some common sense and discretion. What's stopping them from just saying "hey there, can you put your beer in a container please?". Of course the chick in this video was being very belligerent which probably made them less sympathetic. I get that. …

That logic only takes you so far. What about the 1% of people who can't drive worth a shit and run people over? We don't outlaw cars, or make the legal driving age 21. You can't make a police state that outlaws everything just because someone might abuse it. I don't wanna live in the state version of a helicopter parent.

I have mixed feelings on this one. One one hand, she was very mouthy and belligerent. She also resisted arrest and played every victim card in the book like an entitled brat. Textbook trashy behavior. But on the other hand the drinking laws in the US have always struck me as profoundly idiotic. You can be old enough to buy a machine gun but not a beer? You can drink on a beach but only if you hide your alcohol because... reasons? Is this the "land of the Free" or is it Saudi Arabia?

Legal =/= Ethical The fact that this woman was belligerent and entitled doesn't change the fact that the US has some of the dumbest drinking laws in the world. You're allowed to vote, get married and sign up for the army, but you can't have a beer on the beach.

I agree with you that the guy in this case was acting inappropriately in his own right. However she's still a hypocrite imo. What I've seen so far is that: A) She's complaining about someone else making inappropriate comments when she herself has done so 26 times. B) She's complaining about misogyny while she seems like a misandrist. There's footage of her on televised interviews saying men are pigs. Granted, her bad comments in parliament weren't all misandrist. Fair enough. But we're still lef…

This isn't PPD, it's one guy who called out a hypocrite. Not only is she getting away with it, if anything she's gonna leverage this to further her career because the big bad evil men are oppressing her.

They do do that for murder cases. There's manslaughter, 2nd degree murder and 1st degree murder. Things like context and intent are taken into account when deciding what a person is guilty of. As well they should be. For instance what if we're only 80-90% sure that the accusations are false? What if it's 50/50? What if the accusations are false but it turns out that they were made in a form of self defense, like a woman who was fighting domestic abuse? What if she was drunk or mentally unstable …

No, as I said, Twitter mobs are dumb. They're slightly less dumb when the person being targeted deserves it, but they're still dumb. Definitely one of the worst ways to express legitimate criticism. So no, I'm not a fan of the fact that she's getting twitter harassment, it's not something I would do personally. But, it makes sense. She played in the mud and got dirty, I'm don't feel particularly sorry for her. Also on a side note, what exactly did you see that was so bad? Most of the tweets I sa…

Not really an r/incels thing, more like people getting fed up with hypocrisy. She claims to fight for gender equality and feminism but then uses sexist insults against male fans of her game. Consider this: if a male dev had made those blatantly sexist and dismissive remarks - not to mention insults - against a female fan, what would his Twitter be like? With that said, Twitter mobs are still dumb. Buuut I'm also not gonna trip over myself to defend her.
