So, I’m also in favor of body cams, but one downside that was pointed out to me is that it removes the officer’s discretion of what infractions to pursue. Aka, they can’t just not nab you if the camera catches illegal action, even if normally they’d let it pass or give a warning. Arguably that’s not a bad thing either, since selective enforcement allows bad laws to stay on the books, but for the person being enforced against it’s not lovely.
