I personally don't find this newest change in doctrine positive. It opens too much of a window for subjective reasoning in banning subreddits and opens the door to censorship based on disagreement rather than safety. She's actually eligible for parole after 10 years, something which goes a long way in showing a probable willingness to eventually release her. They very easily could have handed her an ironclad life without the possibility of parole, but instead chose to give her a window.

I think it's key to point out that while the sentence is life, she will be eligible for parole after 10 years, making this a somewhat lesser sentence than one would receive for murder. Seems they're wiling to leave it up to the parole board as to how much time she serves beyond 10 years.

I don't know if I can put into proper context how utterly tired I am of hearing about this. Bruce Jenner made the choice to become Caitlyn Jenner because he felt like he was meant to be a woman. Failure is failure, regardless of gender. It's a rough program to go through (as can be seen by the number of soldiers that failed to pass). There's no room for error in the Ranger program because sending someone on that isn't actually to standard, no matter the gender, can cost lives later on.

I think the OP acted in the best interest of himself and his child, which is exactly what any mother would do, except it's a father here. His opting for divorce is a choice reserved solely for him. It's not for anyone else to tell him what to do. Though I agree with some of the posters that an involuntary psych hold is something he needs to put in place asap. You know what bothers me? That anyone has this fight at all. Who cares if it's 1 in 9, 1 in 20, 1 in 6, 1 in 2, or any other ratio. The same applies to females. Who cares if it's 1 in 3/4/ or 5?
