Facts and evidence won again. They didn't, though. Depp already took the hit to his reputation. Only a minority of people are going to see the truth; the rest are going to buy the sensationalist headlines about Depp being an abuser and that's what will stick. That's how accusations like this work. They damage the victim's reputation in public and with their peers, so that by the time the truth comes out the damage has already been done and it's too late to do anything about it.

It's all relevant. World War One is an extreme example of the injustice here, and yeah, times were different, but that injustice hasn't gone away. World War 2. Vietnam. Korea. Afghanistan war. Iraq war. All fought with primarily male deaths. That's kind of the point of history--learning from it. Going "That's not relevant anymore cause it's old!" is just ignorant.

I love that her justification for using it is "It is a word.. that is used." Like she literally can't back up the use of the word at all. She could've simply said sarcastically "I love how condescending you're being toward me about this" and he wouldn't have been able to nail her on her on it, but she was stupid enough to use a third-wave-feminist term in a political setting and was forced to scramble to defend herself.
