We saw this exact same arc with updated Mulan. In the movie. Mulan Ark was her struggle to overcome her natural physical weakness as a woman, and keep up with the boys in training, and eventually as a soldier in battle. But there is cultural aspect of womanhood and manhood for generations, which is also connected with traditional values. Progressive is focused on going beyond of traditional.
