Depending on your skill set, work off the books. I did cash only electrical work on the side, some plumbing here and there, sold a little pot, repaired and sold broken electronics, computer repair. I had to have multiple side hustles going all at once as the work was never steady. The half of each paycheck I was allowed to keep paid all my bills, I had to hustle to eat.

Right now most dealerships are hurting. A lot of dealers are offering some pretty fantastic deals on new cars. I was looking into 2020 kias in the 15-20k range, they're offering cash back and super low interest rates. You could probably pick something up for 300ish per month, very little down. If you can drive your current car til it dies, you might want to wait to see what happens with Hertz. They will possible be declaring bankruptcy in the coming months, and selling off their fleet of 550k ca…

It sounds like she was a homemaker prior to the marriage. She has a child from a previous relationship, no mention of a career prior to getting married. Is half of everything he worked for "fair"?

Go ahead and leave the apartment. As far as filing, should be pretty cut and dry. 1 yr married plus the separation, getting her own place with a new bf, she doesnt really have much of a case concerning alimony. No kids, no joint assets. Consider yourself lucky dude. I'd take a crazy, over in a year, no kids no property divorce over a typical divorce every day. Consider it a blessing.

First off, don't say a word to her. Don't let her know you know about the cheating. She cheated, and you have proof. The marriage lasted a year. Alimony is HIGHLY unlikely as North Carolina views her cheating as a disqualification for alimony. No worry there. Talk to a lawyer before she realizes that you know, and plan to divorce her. Make sure to discuss joint accounts, individual accounts, retirement accounts, assets, pets, etc. An attorney can advise you how to manage those. She may go after …

Don't thank me. Bros before hoes, always. As much as us men try to be solitary islands of unbreakable granite, we need each other at times like these. No one has our backs when it comes to our kids, families, family court, divorce. The deck is so stacked against us, there is almost no way to even get a draw, let alone a win. This shit is killing us, in record numbers all over the world. Society has decided that fathers aren't important aside from what we can provide financially, and all mothers …

I understand the pain, the rage and the injustice. It's why I'm in this sub. I've been through it, I've seen good friends go through it. I hate seeing any man go through it. If I can help a guy avoid all the mistakes I made Then maybe all the bullshit I went through served a purpose. This fight has already driven you to the point of contemplating suicide, a few more blows might push you over the edge. It isn't worth it dude. My oldest turns 18 soon. I didn't see her for 5 years (from 8-13), was …

It's ok to lose. It fucking sucks, and it isnt fair, but it is ok to admit defeat and move on. Likely no one will agree with me, but it is ok to walk away. Especially if it ruining your health, life, financial life. Too many men go through this exact same thing, then give up and check out. Suicide is top 3 leading cause of death in men under 50, and most of those are due to this exact situation. You're not going to find any sympathy. There arent any programs to help men, nobody is falling over t…

I disagree, contacting an attorney is only going to cost you more money, with very little gain. I am assuming you have every other weekend, that isnt likely to change. Going to court over petty bullshit like "she wont let me go to his karate" is only going to open you up to further attack. Your ex is baiting you, constantly it sounds like. And you're giving her exactly what she wants by reacting to it. Stop agonizing over your kid, he'll be fine. Come to terms with all the moments you're going t…

Like I said, nothing pisses my ex off more, than knowing my ass is on a tropical beach with a 20 something, no kids, day drinking and napping. There is nothing I could say to her, no amount of verbal abuse that could ever have more of an impact than that.

My ex sat me down a few weeks after carpet bombing my life with her "ideal" divorce. She wanted to do 50/50, child support, alimony, the house, all the shit in it, me to pay for her car, and half my 401k. I laughed, literally, right in her face. I had to spell it all out. We were a one income family living paycheck to paycheck. How on earth did she think any of that was going to happen? Bitch, I work 60 hrs a week, I do ALL the cooking, cleaning and child raising in this house, you smoke cigaret…

Unfortunately the only resource men have when going through difficulties, is other men. We don't have programs to help us back on our feet. We don't have people falling over themselves to help us up when we are down. You didn't fail, shit happens, you'll get through it. I was alone through my divorce, it was gut wrenching. I almost ended it, the stress, impotent rage, hurt and loneliness were almost too much to bear. Having 10 yrs of my life tossed aside, every sacrifice I made, every moment as …

It takes time. The hurt will eventually turn into anger, which is way worse IMO. You'll have to pay child support, possibly alimony, and that shit will eat you up for a while. You have to start from scratch, rebuild your life from the ground up, and you'll look back on all those years as though they have been stolen from you, and it sucks. BUT.... Let me tell you, as a dude who went through all of this in my mid 30s, Life post divorce is amazing. Even after child support, I have more money now t…

Don't do it. If you do, keep separate accounts, don't have kids, and DO NOT ALLOW HER TO STOP WORKING!!! Less sex, less freedom, less money, fewer friends and ultimately less happiness. I just assume every marriage will eventually end in divorce, and a divorce will set your entire life back 10-20 years. Once her friends start getting divorced, and she realizes that she can replace you with someone newer/better/richer AND keep 30-60% of all your money (future and present) and assets, AND go out a…

1) do you have kids? 2) do you have joint assets? House, joint accounts. 3) do you have a 401k, retirement account? 4) what state are you in? If the answer to the first 3 is no, then go ahead and just tell her. If the answer is yes to any of the first 3, then definitely meet with a layer first. I assure you that she will, and her lawyer will tell her to get everything she can, which is a lot. She can take half your retirement, get alimony, child support, the house, etc. Trust me, once you drop…
