5	Considering divorce in CA I used to hear boomers say “happy wife, happy life” or “cheaper to keep her,” and those were some of the most miserable guys I’ve ever met. At some point you’ve gotta ask yourself…is the money actually buying you what you want… like the peace you’re talking about? You’ll have to move fast, I think they only allow a couple of months. 3	Was the divorce your fault? If you zoom out, it’s usually both people contributing to a divorce to some degree. There are definitely cases where one person is clearly more toxic, but even then, it’s fair to ask why someone married a toxic person in the first place, that answer is often revealing. I have a lot of gay married friends, and I’ve always been amazed by how open-minded they are about marriage, especially when it comes to change and adapting as people evolve.
