| -1 | A row of boys lying on newsprint-covered tables howl in pain and grit their teeth as part of "circumcision season" in the Philippines beginsFor some reason redditers don't seem to understand what precedence is. When you want to change something that is an established way of doing things, the burden and responsibility for proving that it is harmful and needs to change falls to the shoulders of the party that is seek to change things. So *yes*, you do need to make a well formed and logical argument against it. Especially when my family and I have no issues with it, and we're the supposed "victims". I've not heard any of these people… | /r/MensRights | 21/02/23 05:35 PM |
| 0 | A row of boys lying on newsprint-covered tables howl in pain and grit their teeth as part of "circumcision season" in the Philippines beginsI’ll check out that article and probably read up on Dr. Kellogg too. A major difference between FGM and circumcision, seems to be the age at which is is done. Circumcision can be done a day or 2 after birth where FGM isn’t until girls are well within the age of memory and has a lot of risks associated with it. This is not my knowledge, just a quick read up from WebMD. As a Christian, God had reasons behind everything He ever instructed the Israelites to do. Circumcision was a form of covenant be… | /r/MensRights | 17/02/23 10:08 PM |
| 0 | A row of boys lying on newsprint-covered tables howl in pain and grit their teeth as part of "circumcision season" in the Philippines beginsAnd what does the UN define as male genital mutilation? My suspicion is that would only be castration. As for the article, like I said, it references 4 studies done just on sensitivity. And your response is that it’s all propaganda? Please explain how that’s true? It’s fine. I know if you could provide any real evidence other than your psychosis fueled ranting, that you would have by now. But you can’t because it doesn’t exist. Parents have the right to choose what’s best for their children, suc… | /r/MensRights | 17/02/23 09:41 PM |
| -1 | A row of boys lying on newsprint-covered tables howl in pain and grit their teeth as part of "circumcision season" in the Philippines beginsYou’re on our other argument thread. Just stay on that one. One thread is enough for the two of us. | /r/MensRights | 17/02/23 09:28 PM |
| 0 | A row of boys lying on newsprint-covered tables howl in pain and grit their teeth as part of "circumcision season" in the Philippines beginsIt would be traumatic to anyone who didn’t want it. I’ll give you that. But that’s not the case. It doesn’t reduce pleasure, ffs a google search gave me this article which references many real studies done on sensitivity and functionality. https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/325713#hygeine Yep… ok. Every observable piece of our reality?… it’s all wrong? Wtf dude. Idk how to do the little subtext reference thing or I would be pointing to your second to last paragraph. You sound like a ravin… | /r/MensRights | 17/02/23 09:25 PM |
| -4 | A row of boys lying on newsprint-covered tables howl in pain and grit their teeth as part of "circumcision season" in the Philippines beginsThere’s a reason they do male circumcision. There isn’t any reason to do female labioplasty beyond that of aesthetics | /r/MensRights | 17/02/23 09:16 PM |
| 0 | A row of boys lying on newsprint-covered tables howl in pain and grit their teeth as part of "circumcision season" in the Philippines beginsSeeing how 20,000 infants die in the US each year, that sounds negligibly low. Out of 3.7m births? Come on… I can’t even read that article without creating an account which means you probably didn’t read it either. And yes your logic is circular. Your accusation is that circumcision is harmful and traumatic. Your attempting to justify your accusation by simply stating, “I swear it’s really harmful and traumatic”. My defense is “No it is not. My experience, my family, and the support of both the … | /r/MensRights | 17/02/23 09:06 PM |
| 0 | A row of boys lying on newsprint-covered tables howl in pain and grit their teeth as part of "circumcision season" in the Philippines beginsI said negative impacts based on the outcomes of circumcision…. Your “evidence” claims are based on the premise that what your claiming is already true. It’s circular logic and it doesn’t work. On the point of your “evidence” My body has no issue with sensitivity or proper operation with women. Your describing things that just aren’t true. Show me something scientific that backs up your absurd claims. Your only points are claimed genital mutilation, and violation of bodily autonomy. Both of whic… | /r/MensRights | 17/02/23 08:44 PM |

| 0 | A row of boys lying on newsprint-covered tables howl in pain and grit their teeth as part of "circumcision season" in the Philippines beginsI won’t accept your gaslighting. Your first comment was wrapped with insults, and you brought women into the conversation about male circumcision. You haven’t mentioned one thing yet that actually shows how or why it’s bad or damaging. Based solely on the outcomes of circumcision, how is it a negative thing? | /r/MensRights | 17/02/23 08:18 PM |
| 0 | A row of boys lying on newsprint-covered tables howl in pain and grit their teeth as part of "circumcision season" in the Philippines beginsYour constant reversion to schoolyard insults really does nothing to strengthen your fragile argument. The claim is that boys are abused and irreparably harmed by circumcision. I refute that as utter nonsense by virtue of myself, my family, our individual success, and the support of my position by the entire medical industry for all of human history. Again, it’s not a requirement but it is an acceptable preference | /r/MensRights | 17/02/23 08:10 PM |
| -2 | A row of boys lying on newsprint-covered tables howl in pain and grit their teeth as part of "circumcision season" in the Philippines beginsI didn’t bring up women, because I don’t have a dog in that fight. You brought it up. Boys and girls are different. Revolutionary statement in 2023, I know. But girls don’t have dicks so they can’t be circumcised. The topic of circumcision is exclusively a topic of boys/men | /r/MensRights | 17/02/23 07:59 PM |
| 0 | A row of boys lying on newsprint-covered tables howl in pain and grit their teeth as part of "circumcision season" in the Philippines beginsNow you’re getting to the truth of your argument. “I must have internalized the patriarchy” 😂 “No benefit whatsoever” https://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/news/articles/greater-benefits-of-infant-circumcision Make men easier to control? Please explain to me how circumcised adult men are easier to control or more docile? That must be an interesting scientific study with direct correlation… delusional.. as I said, obviously dysfunctional | /r/MensRights | 17/02/23 07:55 PM |
| -3 | A row of boys lying on newsprint-covered tables howl in pain and grit their teeth as part of "circumcision season" in the Philippines beginsNobody circumcises baby girls. Maybe some small subcultures do, akin to the Chinese foot-binding or the ancient neck extension thing… but that’s not comparable to male circumcision which has been done for thousands of years across many cultures. I’d only even heard of labioplasty about 8 months ago. But that is grown women. | /r/MensRights | 17/02/23 07:49 PM |
| -1 | A row of boys lying on newsprint-covered tables howl in pain and grit their teeth as part of "circumcision season" in the Philippines beginsWhen it started? It’s been a normal thing for thousands of years. Wanna be triggered even more? My sons will be cut too. Just like all my family. Maybe you are a man. I would venture to guess a highly dysfunctional one. | /r/MensRights | 17/02/23 07:45 PM |
| 0 | A row of boys lying on newsprint-covered tables howl in pain and grit their teeth as part of "circumcision season" in the Philippines beginsYep… solid logic. The entire medical field, and most Americans…. All child predators 😂 You clearly don’t have a dog in this fight. | /r/MensRights | 17/02/23 07:38 PM |
| -5 | A row of boys lying on newsprint-covered tables howl in pain and grit their teeth as part of "circumcision season" in the Philippines beginsAre you even a man? Do you have sons? Speaking from experience, it is objectively not harmful. Based on the improved hygienic factors, it could possibly be considered medically beneficial too. | /r/MensRights | 17/02/23 07:33 PM |
| 0 | A row of boys lying on newsprint-covered tables howl in pain and grit their teeth as part of "circumcision season" in the Philippines beginsTechnically they both happen without the baby’s consent, and they both happen shortly after birth. It’s a pretty appropriate comparison…. Fucktard | /r/MensRights | 17/02/23 07:28 PM |
| -1 | A row of boys lying on newsprint-covered tables howl in pain and grit their teeth as part of "circumcision season" in the Philippines beginsI appreciate that! I agree that the subject post seems pretty fucked up. Doing it to every boy at 7-9 years old… I definitely know that not all my peers at that age would have agreed to do it. My family represents the most hated group in this country so I’m sure the knowledge about that would color peoples opinion on our approval of circumcision. | /r/MensRights | 17/02/23 05:37 PM |
| -1 | A row of boys lying on newsprint-covered tables howl in pain and grit their teeth as part of "circumcision season" in the Philippines beginsI understand your position regarding consent. Although personally, I would’ve been pissed if my parents didn’t do it when I was a baby, and couldn’t remember the pain and recovery, and had to have it done myself once I was older. Male and female anatomy and biology is different. Your views are not offensive, and it’s nice to have actual dialogue on Reddit for once. But again I would’ve been pissed if I had to do it myself when I was 13 or 14. Like “wtf dad, you mean I could have done this when I… | /r/MensRights | 17/02/23 05:15 PM |
| -18 | A row of boys lying on newsprint-covered tables howl in pain and grit their teeth as part of "circumcision season" in the Philippines beginsAs a 28M, with 2 brothers, 4 uncles, dozens of male cousins, etc… I can say that we were unanimously circumcised after birth as babies, and none of us feel the way you do about. No negative effects whatsoever. No traumatic memories No disfigurement The argument against it is utterly illogical to me. I agree that it’s a personal choice as a parent, but it’s purely a matter of preference. | /r/MensRights | 17/02/23 04:51 PM |
| 1 | Anti-Circumcision SelfiesSo I assume that your answer, based on the first link, is “circumcisions are sometimes botched causing disfigurement” As for your statement on us just not saying anything, we’ve had conversations about it, and none of the men in my family understand what you’re talking about or what this post is implying. | /r/MensRights | 17/02/23 01:43 PM |
| 1 | Anti-Circumcision SelfiesHelp me out here. I don’t get this. I was circumcised, so were my brothers, and all male family members, dad, grandpa, cousins, etc. It wasn’t some psychotic thing like these people are describing. Why is this such an issue? It literally didn’t do any long term damage. | /r/MensRights | 14/02/23 11:41 PM |
| 1 | Teachers being harsher to boys, especially Traditional boys, does this make you lean toward homeschool for your own children?Lack of make teachers to lead and instruct boys is absolutely a factor. It’s outright foolish to think that from K to 12, boys only having female teachers does anything to help them as students. The Israeli military exclusively has women to monitor their boarder defense observation and missile strike system because of the reason that women have a more focused attention span than men. If you don’t think girls have a better attention span than boys, you must not have spent much time around boys or… | /r/MensRights | 05/02/23 07:53 PM |
| 1 | Teachers being harsher to boys, especially Traditional boys, does this make you lean toward homeschool for your own children?Girls mature at an earlier age than boys Boys are typically higher energy and more rambunctious/rowdy than girls. Inherently disadvantaging boys who have trouble sitting still for 8 hours straight in a class room. Most teachers are women The school system views male teachers with air of caution and reservation that they could potentially be a predator to students or teachers. Meaning boys have few, if any, role model men in the class room setting. This issue is partly alleviated by most athletic… | /r/MensRights | 04/02/23 07:31 PM |
| 14 | Teachers being harsher to boys, especially Traditional boys, does this make you lean toward homeschool for your own children?I was homeschooled until the 4th grade. I 100% will be home schooling my children. That’s been my certainty since I was a kid. Schools were designed for girls. It’s not the states duty to educate, it’s my duty as a parent | /r/MensRights | 02/02/23 04:28 PM |
