I'm not saying it as a frowning upon others type thing. (Did you even read my comment?) I'm saying that, when someone goes to say a store or the mall, they aren't necessarily doing something that is structured, timed, and requires their full attention. I think he got lucky and went to her at a good time. Stretching is not really that intensive and actually a bit relaxing, so I think he actually just had lucky timing.

What do you mean? The reason to not approach them there is because they are generally not looking their best and are focused on what they are doing. The gym is not the most social location.

UPDATE Well, in case anyone was wondering, it went absolutely great. We met at a coffee shop near her work and literally talked until the shop closed and then out even more outside by her car. It was something like 6.5 hours and neither of us wanted to leave afterwards. We both felt so comfortable. I think what he's getting at is that girls in say a club area don't want those nice qualities you listed above in a guy. They want someone confident, mysterious, and carefree. This is the same in the opposite direction. A guy doesn't want a girl who's clingy, boring, and well mannered. He wants a girl who know how to have a good time.
