You need to be very careful from here on out. The fact she’s recording conversations right after seeing a lawyer means she’s being strategic. Assume everything you say and do could be used in court. Keep conversations minimal and stick to text/email when possible so there’s a clear record. I’d also start protecting yourself a bit more like cameras in common areas of the home (where legal) can be helpful. Not saying anything will happen, but once things get contentious, situations can get twisted…

Yes — your ex would likely be entitled to half of the proceeds if the car was purchased during the marriage and before the divorce was filed. It would generally be treated as marital property and added to the rest of the assets that will be divided.

No regrets. One of the best decisions.

Do not agree to anything. I’m in CA and went through this a couple years ago. California has changed and the default custody and visitation is 50/50 unless there are circumstances that prevents it such as domestic violence, drugs or sometimes work schedule. I’m in Riverside county, CA. The process for custody and visitation (if you two do not agree) is the judge will send you two together to custody and visitation mediation with a social worker who will ask each of you what you want and afterwar…

I can confirm the info you provided is correct. I just finalized all matters in my case in March 2024 California on the day of trial in the hallway. Thank God I got a prenup in 2006 which she challenged to get thrown out but it was enforced and I only have to pay child support and gave her a lump sum for alimony for a 15 year marriage. I kept the house, cars, retirement accounts, money in bank and pension. Prenups works!!!

Definitely discuss this with your separate attorney who is doing the prenup. Also, make sure you add a term in the prenup that your income will be separate property too. If not, that separate property will become community property by commingling separate and community property.

The laws for post nuptials are way different than prenup as post nuptials has a fiduciary component to the other spouse and there is no way she will sign it after seeing an attorney and I doubt if any judge will enforce it later down the line when you eventually divorce. You either have to suck it up in the marriage or divorce. I would definitely do the latter. Good luck

The prenup was a win for Dr. Dre. He only paid a small amount (less than 13%) of his fortune to the ex.

You are wrong. The prenup saved Dr. Dre. It was a win for him. His net worth was $800 million and only paid her $100 million which is only about 12.5%. It would have been 50% without a prenup. Facts.

100% NO!!!!! Would not consider marriage again without prenup. Do not do it.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
