I think what you are trying to do is say that 1, a hobby costs time and money, 2, raising children costs time and money, 3 people don't hire other people to do hobbies for them, 4, people don't hire people to raise their kids for them, 5 it's cheaper to raise kids yourself, and 6, you shouldn't be paid to raise children at home. Hence the idea of a babysitter. It's enough work to get paid for, and if counted, would make the results look very different. Plus, it looks like the hours worked by women is increasing faster than the rate for men. I'm no statistics guy, but If the trend continues, men and women should be equal in hours worked within the next few decades? This is kind of the result of ye old "housewife" trend.
