I’m in that now, but over a year out now. She’s moving my kids in with a guy she’s only known for six months. Most things she sends are to keep me on the hook or to get a response. Is it a joint account? She can figure out how to get that info on her own. I turned off notifications for her texts and emails, I’ll deal with that on my own time when I notice she sent something. I set up a new email account only for her emails and things to do with divorce. I give space for responses, I don’t respon…

I don’t and will never forgive her. I forgive myself, though, for being so naive and putting up with her abuse for so long. I don’t tell her that, of course. Don’t ever tell her you won’t forgive.

I’m guessing you’re fine if you don’t smoke around your kids. The court probably does not care.

My stbxw still drinks and is on probation for a DUI. She gets drunk around our kids. The court gives zero fucks about it.

Hasn’t been a year. It’s takes years to process, but it is a process. Two steps forward, one step back. That’s how it goes. It’s ok to recognize that you were the victim of an abusive partner. That’s exactly what happened. You did not choose to be traumatized by her actions.

Gaming and TV was my escape when I was trapped in a shitty marriage situation in the same house. Now that I’m out on my own I have a hard time getting interested or wanting to play games. It just feels hollow now that it isn’t an escape. I started leaning into the physical fitness activities as new hobbies. Makes me feel better, is better for my health, and afterwards I usually feel better about playing a game and enjoying it more. Maybe try that?

My stbxw decided our marriage ended “a long time ago” so it’s ok for her to have sex with other men and move in with her boyfriend while we’re still married. Our wedding vows seemed pretty important to her when we got married.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
