A similar situation happened to me except no one got hurt at all and nothing was broken. My ex though, pulled a fillet knife on me and threatened me with it. I had no proof of this so they did nothing. When she found out that neither of us were getting arrested she told the cops I threatened to kill myself so they took me for a mandatory 72h hold in the hospital.
