A forestry technician with the U.S. Forest Service, Terry Barton, set the fire in a campfire ring during a total burn ban triggered by a National Weather Service red flag warning. Barton's claim that she was attempting to burn a letter from her estranged husband was disputed by one of her teenage daughters who testified that a psychology teacher had told Ms. Barton to write her feelings in a letter and burn it. So she willing ignored a federal order. The fire resulted directly in $39.1 million i…

Marlene Wickham, 22, was also ordered by U.S. District Judge Fernando M. Olguin to pay a share of $20,000 in restitution to Opus Bank. Wickham handed over more than $52,000 $32,470 has been recovered and returned to the bank. So if you subtract $32,470 from $52,000 since that is the figure we are given you get $19,530. Since she has to pay a part of that my guess is that it will be less than $10,000 maybe between $5,000 and $7,500. Wickham’s attorney, Humberto Diaz, told the court that his clien…

After a passenger in front of Janine Cooper, 38, of Iver, reclined his seat during an August 28, 2003, Air Malta flight to Heathrow, she began kicking it and being verbally abusive. She and her husband were arrested on landing; he was fined £500 in compensation while she got three months One where a man gets the lesser punishment. YAY. Although I do not know why he was punished at all since it sounds like he did not do anything. Trevor Blake, 44, and his fiancée Nicola Fitzgerald, 28, of Luton, …

Russian-born artist Galina Rusanova, 45, of London, was arrested by FBI agents in Bangor on April 29 after the United flight she had boarded in Los Angeles diverted there on its way to London. When Joseph Wayne Lynch II, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, missed a connecting flight to Denver at Philadelphia on August 4, 2015, US Airways upgraded him to first class on its next flight there as compensation. The December 31 flight from Manchester to the Dominican Republic was delayed in taking off for three hours, allowing many passengers extra time to consume more alcohol. Early in the flight Grant Smith, 36, of Burnley, demanded food from a flight attendant after returning his wallet, which other passengers had been playing keep away with. Back at his seat, he argued loudly with a traveling companion, leading crew to issue him two formal written warning letters, both of which he tore up; he later …

After being refused an additional drink on the June 5 flight from Atlanta to his native Manchester, Christopher Bayes fondled flight attendants and eventually wound up struggling with several, spitting blood from his broken lip at one who was finally able to restrain him. Now the men. After an attendant on a November 22 United flight from London to Dulles caught Shaun Jantzen Coles, 25, of Gloucester, smoking in the lavatory, he slammed the door on the female attendant's foot and assaulted other crew who came to assist. He was arrested on arrival by the FBI and charged with three counts of interfering with a flight crew; investigators soon learned that he had a lengthy criminal record in the United Kingdom. After pleading guilty, he was sentenced to 30 months, on…

GREENSBORO, N.C. — It's been an excruciating four years for the Brown family. Larry Brown, 74, was brutally beaten to death with a fire extinguisher at while he was walking to the bus stop in August 2015. Three teens were involved in the murder on Greenbriar Road. After killing Brown, they stole $3. The youngest teenager involved in the crime was sentenced this week: now 18-year-old Ketrellia Harris. She was 14 when it happened. but bars have womens night with cheap drinks and nobody gives a shit Yes people do give a shit. The bars have been taken to court and sued and the bars lose every time but the people who can do something about it do nothing because they only care about getting re-elected to their office and they do not want to be the one that stops it.

Just because she was ordered to pay a set amount in restitution does not mean that is the amount she stole. She could have stolen $2 million and be ordered to only repay $800,000. The amount of restitution does not always equal the amount stolen.

One of two complaints filed with the city of Austin alleging discrimination by Alamo Drafthouse Cinema LLC over the summer for women-only screenings of the "Wonder Woman" movie has been settled. Here is where the PP comes into play in my opinion. Lori and Mossimo could reportedly face between 2 and 20 years behind bars. My guess is that she will see the lesser end of this since we all know that the courts are geared towards women and I am betting she will cry in court and say that she did no know what she was doing was illegal and then blame her husband and other men. Honestly I will be surprised if she gets any jail time at all. Her husband will be made an example of and will get the m…

At first, Santana Renee Adams was hailed as a hero. Using her sharp wits and a concealed weapon, the 24-year-old had narrowly saved her young child from the clutches of a menacing stranger, at least in the eyes of many online commenters. It all started last Monday, when police in Barboursville, W. Va., wrote on Facebook that a woman had called 911 and told dispatchers that a strange man had tried to grab her 5-year-old daughter while she was shopping at a local mall. The woman, later identified …

The sentence was suspended, but that's not the same as no time Yes it is the same. If she does not get caught doing anything illegal for the suspended time* then the jail time will disappear. *Let us say the suspended time is 12 months. because at any time if she violated whatever conditions were set, she'd have to serve that time. This is what bothers me most. Google said it will be distributing $9.7 million in pay adjustments to 10,677 employees for that and other pay disparities. It did not break down how many of the raises were going to men versus women. So even though the women were making more they will also get raises meaning there will still be men who are not making the same amount.
