I don't have Snapchat but my bf does and I don't really think it's a big deal. It depends on how the person uses it. In his case, he has snap because his friend group uses it as their secondary means of communication (i.e. they use snap for 1v1 convos and fb groups for their group convos). And even in that case, he doesn't really talk to them that much anymore so the app is almost never used.

My bf is 28 and he uses Snapchat because that's just the primary means of communication between him and individual members of his friend group. He barely even opens it other than that. Iirc, the reason he uses it so much when chatting with his friends is because one of the guys sends a lot of snaps whenever he's partying and drinking so my bf just skims them when they're being spammed out to the group.

Wait, sending the same meme to multiple people because it reminds you of all of them isn't the norm? I do that all the time. Pretty much everyone goes "😂😂😂" and that's about it. Memes aren't exactly the pinnacle of reactionary content. If you really want to see how guys respond to things, say a shower thought or something else really weird and thought provoking like "if you could have dinner with any person dead or alive, who would you have dinner with?" Assholes will call you weird and an idiot…

Except RPWomen, lol. That's exactly what they want in a guy.

I just don't know what you want me to say. I feel like I'm bothering you. So I'm telling you that I'm sorry for bothering you.

If he wants to meet during a coronavirus — he might be a narcissist. Even if he's not a narcissist, he's clearly dumber than a sack of bricks and you shouldn't be paying any mind to a guy that dumb.

Erm, being clingy is bad though. And so is dwelling, regardless of whether or not you do it. I've never met somebody who wanted to be more clingy. That's unusual. And talking about people years and years after something happens kinda is dwelling. You can recount something that happened years ago but thinking about every mistake and error that caused a situation to fail is dwelling. I'm really not trying to accuse you of anything. I was just making a comment. I'm sorry for bothering you. 😞

That's what I mean. This happened years ago so beyond discussion over what happened and deciding that certain mistakes were made on either his or your part, there's really nothing you can do about it. I didn't say you didn't know how to hang out with friends. I just made a comparison to going on a date being like hanging out with friends. Just gotta learn from those mistakes and move on to the future. There's no real point on dwelling on things that happened years ago because it'll just stress y…

But from what you said, you didn't actually make plans for the date? Well, no use crying over spilled milk. It already happened so can't do anything about it. Just gotta move on to the next guy.

A lot of families don't even talk about consent and reproductive health though. They just sort of expect that you'll know all about it after a certain age. Or they'll hope that you learn nothing about it until after you get married.

Why is this part of the education missing? Are they doing this to keep it easy for guys to get sex? It usually isn't missing to this extent. My mom wasn't very helpful in the dating side of things because she dated and married one guy: my dad. So she was great for telling me how to deal with friends because she always had problems with attracting manipulative friends but didn't know much about dating. But my dad drilled into my head from day one that I should never trust guys unless they've prov…

The article was corny flirting. And generally, when somebody says "we should have dinner/go for coffee/hang out sometime," the expected response for stating that you're interested in hanging out is "sure, when are you free?" Then they give you dates when they're free and you respond with which of those dates work for you. It's not just for dating. That's how I planned all of my hang outs with my friends as well.

There's lots of ways for priests to be married and have children. For Anglican priests, they're 100% allowed to have wives and kids. In particular, my dad was a Catholic priest that was ex-communicated in the 70s.

I'm sorry. You shouldn't have had to live like that. You deserve a good man in your life and I hope you'll be able to find one in the future.

I was raised Christian too; my dad was a priest. But he made absolutely certain that I knew it was okay to reject guys for having no ambition or for not being respectful. And he definitely taught me how to defend myself well before my first day at primary school, both physically and verbally.

You should've sneezed all over the frozen sausages and handed them to him on a plate. Be like "here, it's the best I could do on such short notice."

Imo, ugly men can be HVM just like handsome men can be LVM. My bf isn't conventionally attractive but every other trait he has is why I consider him a HVM. But you shouldn't push yourself to date somebody you're not attracted to. You can't make yourself attracted to somebody if you're really just not into the guy. Don't lead him on though; make sure you both know where you stand right away. It's just cruel if you know there's no future with somebody.

I'm heckin' lucky that my dad is a hardcore HVM. He helped families escape a dictatorship in his home country before escaping himself, married my mom within a year because he loved who she was as a person and not because she was trying to "please" him (dear God if my mom ever tried to "please" anyone, I think the world would end), always made sure to let her know that she was beautiful without needing to change anything, supported her for 3 years as a SAHM when I was a baby, and supported her wh…

I like your personal motto. Mine is: "don't do stupid shit if you don't want to win stupid prizes." It's really unfortunately that blunt "this is what you do to not get completely screwed over" guidelines aren't explained clearly enough to young women. I know way too many women, both online and irl, that are far too willing to allow numerous brightly lit flaming red flags just because a guy smiled in their direction. It's actually frightening.

They're not. But they pretend that it's exactly what they want else they bring down upon them the despair of their entire world view being shattered into a thousand pieces. My bf's sister is like that. She would do everything for her bf despite the fact that her entire family was desperately telling her that he's a useless bum. But she would ignore them because "my bf is the bestest and he loves me! he doesn't need a good job because I can support both of us as a modern and liberal feminist!" No…

I don’t want to be like the type of women they praise. Absolutely. Manosphere guys insist that they want "love" but what they really want is subservience. They don't want a person, they want a doll who makes them chicken tendies and lies down quietly for them to have sex with every once in a while.

I haven't gotten incel PMs for posting on this sub but I've gotten them for posting on other subs, mostly on ForeverAlone. Incels assume a lot of things of women, the two primary things being "there is no such thing as an ugly/lonely woman," and that "women have it easy and FDS is just holding out for Chad because women are all picky and stupid."

I agree fully with the money thing. My bf isn't rich but he's really good with money. He's always preparing for the future and only buys things that he really likes and knows he'll use regularly. His concerns with money are very focused. If a bill is coming up like dental surgery or car payments, he's already on it weeks in advance. It's refreshing compared to some other guys I know who are just absolute disasters when it comes to dealing with money. I have another example: Respect. He doesn't l…

Please don't put words in my mouth. What I mean is that I don't dress feminine or try to look like a woman, like what's expected by society. I dress like a 12-year-old boy. I didn't wear dresses or shorts for years because I hated the feeling of having bare legs plus I don't shave my legs. I'm not saying that feminine looking women only care about high heels and reality TV. My two best friends are very feminine to the point where one of them only wears dresses and never pants, even in winter. An…

I don't think I have any orbiters honestly. I try not to keep around any friend, male or female, that I sense have an ulterior motive of some kind. I've been bullied and used by a lot of different people (thankfully, only financially and emotionally, and not physically) and I'm just tired of having that nonsense around me. Only mild downside is that by default, I have a very small social network.

As long as you accept yourself, and accept the way other women are if they do decide to dress up, it's all good. I respect the artistic side of fashion and makeup. I know GlamAndGore is not a "true" glam beauty guru but I think she's a really amazing makeup artist. Good makeup and style is very impressive and I always think it's awesome to see the female engineers racing around the office, dressed to the nines, fucking shit up, and frightening all the boys. It's just never really been something …

But on that note, you should still be careful about where you're going and who you're talking to, speaking as a person who spent part of her childhood in a 3rd world country. Being confident in yourself doesn't mean you're not at risk of being kidnapped, murdered, or worse.

Education: Figure out what you're good at and can tolerate doing for the rest of your life as a job. I'm not saying "follow your dreams" because if you love to cook, you'll hate being a chef because it takes away all the fun of cooking. E.g. if you want to be a professional artist, don't get a degree in fine arts. Get a degree in marketing and/or accounting because it'll give you a larger variety of skills that you can use for other jobs if you can't get a job as a professional artist. Marketing…

I actually learned how to reject LVM from my dad, not my mom. His question list was basically were: Is he doing anything with his life or at least trying to do something with it? Is it at least something that requires a certification e.g. a blue collar job like mechanic, plumber, etc? Does he treat you with respect? Does he treat your parents and family with respect? Does he introduce you to his friends and family? Does he push you to do things you're not comfortable with e.g. physical interacti…
