I do have teen girls. They don’t mention anything about him as per mom’s instructions. But I have not seen any red flags. How would one do this background check? Legal? $$$?

I read this somewhere and it resonated with me focus on preparing kids to be good adults - all else is secondary

It really hurts. I’m in same boat. Mom needs them as prop to show she is good mom to public and new guy. So I went with the thought that “what’s good for the girls” . What do the girls want? I used my extra time on myself and house and messing around… Pretty soon New guy tired of this racket and things are back to normal. I only sweat big stuff

Don’t do this. Go for 50/50 kids and assets. Do mediation first. This will look fair to a judge. And the lawyers will be 😡

If it’s small stuff and especially if you have kids - let it go

Check your insurance and google for therapists reviews. Lean on friends and family. Volunteer Buy 2 dumbbells from Walmart- medium weight. When you see gains after a month of consistent use - you will gladly buy heavier dumbbells. Pretty soon you will be ready to join the cheap local gym - planet fitness? Thots will follow 😉

Same page as you. I’ve been looking for the answer too. Maybe beginning to realize that you either play the game or get off the court. If you play the game then don’t expect a destination of happily ever after. New relationships will come in and leave like the seasons… I hope I’m wrong 😑

I’m still 50% through- digital audio before bed… next for me is Meditations (Aurelius) - others have recommended for stoicism- helps get you to the other side. I’ve read chump lady. Great stuff for victims of cheating. It seems marriage 2.0 is more about what you can do for me than the other way… 🤷🏼‍♂️

Temp orders and move out

If you think divorce is inevitable get a lawyer and get temporary orders in place. Avoid leaving the house. But chances of DV accusations goes up. Also it looks bad to a judge if you have kids. Temporary orders will help you if you have to leave. In my case - I avoided leaving - so she left for her bf’s house! I got the house - after buying her out.

Agreed - and moving out reduces chances of DV

Don’t get caught up with cops and domestic violence. Move out , get lawyer , get emergency temporary orders. If she moves first - oh boy!

Use litigation for only those issues both of you disagree on - or lawyers will have a field day. Focus on the big picture

Listen up noobs. This is why you don’t try to fix things and argue. It’s already over. Get a lawyer. Get emergency orders in place. Don’t leave your house. She most probably will if she is visiting her new guy. You need to show that you are doing stuff with - not for - the kids. So it’s better to take kids to the doctor than pay the doctor’s bills. Show friends and neighbors that you are a present dad. OP , you have a longish road ahead. Get a lawyer first. Fight using lawyer only if it’s worth …
