Psychics claim to see the future, which would negate every preventative measure, since they would know exactly when and where an event would take place. The fact that any psychic you see is reading palms and not directing investments is proof that they are frauds. You should always buy a car on finance rather than paying in cash. Average market return over 5 years is 8-10% annually on a moderately aggressive portfolio. Dropping 20k on a car to save 3-4% interest is missing out on an additional 4-5% return annually on the principal.
