You missed the point. You don't "create" the drama...you just don't avoid it.

Without keeping the woman interested...you will not have a happy relationship, especially with "beta-like" behavior. Whether or not you like the designations, the accuracy of why these behaviors fit under each category is what allows each member of this sub to discover the truth of how modern interactions with the opposite sex work. You don't have to like it, but the validity is indisputable.

Oh. Shit. Probably the most offensively accurate smart joke I've read in a while. Very nice.

"You're starting to sound like my girlfriend." Fucking wow. This is gold.

And I quote... Ultimately, being a white knight costed me around 8 grand in debt, dropping my 3.5 GPA to a 2.7, making a few songs irritating to me due to the memories it causes, and being overall cynical about relationships. Yes...he took responsibility for his actions. He is not blaming her. You're wrong. EDIT- Also...wtf with the condom thing? They weren't his kids. Are you even reading stuff that you're responding to? Seriously?

This issue must strike too close to home for you, because you aren't speaking rationally, and your logic seems to apply to some other discussion/situation. He never blamed who he was sleeping with. And if he did...we'd all call him out for an incorrect approach. He shared his perspective inside a thread where his perspective applied directly to the content. Your condescending, 2nd-grade-teacher-tone-of-voice bull shit is really out of line, considering you're simply arguing to "be right" instead…

Ignorance. Ignorance was "what was going on there." Also, when he says "doing the right thing"...he is talking about when it came time to weigh the goods vs. the bads. It wasn't his "only reasoning"...just the one that held a lot of weight. You're that chick, aren't you? He didn't know any better about what signals were at play, and he didn't have enough experience to refer to. Obviously, there had to attraction and probably some amazing sex/cooking...which keeps a lot of men distracted. But tha…

That's the incorrect mentality to adopt. It's not about constantly being under threat...it's about preventing the susceptibility of leaving yourself open to those threats. This is a proactive approach to suppressing the hamster. I don't see the problem when the people who need to adopt this mentality have been dealing with a lot more susceptibility and "real" threat than the potential "downsides" of this logic. Just ask any of the divorcees around here: which is worse for your health?

I do not follow your logic. You seem to imply that maintaining frame is a "mask" that you wear...as if this is not the personality you already embody...this is a "fake" one. If that's what you mean, well, you're doing it wrong. Keeping your guard up simply keeps people from getting too close too quickly. And in the case with most women, I think the "health risks" of keeping them at arms length vs inviting them into a permanent position in your life are significantly less substantial. And your sl…

Dangerous? What's dangerous about keeping your guard up and maintaining your frame? I feel the most danger lies in the opposite thinking...regardless of how "ignorant" or black-and-white it sounds. The danger definitely lurks around the opposite sort of thinking.

There's some sort of saying about how guys friends talk shit to each other, but don't mean it...and girls friends complement each other, but don't mean it. It's good training, for sure.

It's clear that she's contradicting herself...but if you sit there and point it out or argue with her, you give her ammunition and lower yourself to her level. That "zero reaction", like you say, is how they see "strength." And that's what they want from men.

I think the situation that is the problem, in this case, is the whole "there are always two sides to the story" mentality/perspective. This isn't a court room. There isn't a mediator. No audience. This is reality. This is life. This is your life. So there is only one side. Yours. When that sets in, it makes the "doesn't that suck" go away...because it's ALL in your control. It could suck, if you let it...but why would you do that? Take control of your story, and fuck the rest of the consideratio…

He wasn't much of a friend, but he basically said something along the lines of "If you're the answer for him right now, she'll find an answer for you...eventually." She did, and he was right. Too bad I brushed it off...but it was a lesson learned. Edit--- And yes...my response to him was along the lines of, "I've known her for a long time, dude. She's different." So like I said...I agree, except I didn't forget what he said to me.

I would agree...EXCEPT for the fact that blue pills don't forget something like this when their world crumbles around them. The one time I was given a "heads up" by a friend of mine with my ex way back (I thought he was kind of a douche)...I thought back to that moment multiple times after I left her. Fast forward a couple years...and I discovered this area that explained where he was coming from. Obviously I didn't listen...but I may not have been in search of the truth without having some sort…

Well...he'll learn one way or another. But for your own, personal Karma's sake (outside of reddit, obv)...I think giving him the heads up is the way to go. You have nothing to gain and nothing to lose. But helping your fellow man out (just like what TRP has done) by giving him the option of choosing what to believe could potentially save this guy from a lot of hard lessons learned. Not saying you have to...just saying you probably should if you are this aware, and he is not. You don't have to ag…

No need to quit. But try rewarding yourself with your first daily game of LoL after a 30 minute run/jog. Or doing 30push ups & situps between each game. You know you've got the time...you just aren't using it wisely. Also, a 20 minute stretch session before you start helps with blood flow to your brain (better reaction times) and you can do things like "punish yourself" for losing by doing a series of sets. It really helps keep the unnecessary anger flares (you know what the fuck I'm talking abo…

So what? That's not the point of this sub. Just because there are a few frustrated dudes here doesn't mean that's their reason for being here. Just because there are a few stoners at a comedy show doesn't mean they're there to keep getting stoned. They're there to laugh.

It would have gone over mine, but the "rape-speak" part had me so confused/bewildered at how this person slipped through the cracks and got upvoted. This section has taught me a lot about thinking for myself...and I seemed to pass this satirical shit test. I feel like I've leveled up or something. Seriously...Thanks. Everyone.

Good call. I was mentally distancing myself for a second, but you've reeled me back in. Perceived value, indeed.

You seem to like "extremes." I think if you tone it down to a more "sarcastic" tone instead of being so "rebellious" or "anti-niceguy," I think you'll do better. Maybe you're just messin' around with this comment...but it seems to be a running trend in some of your responses. Your head was in the right place...but your heart got involved, and you took it too far. "Hm. Easily impressed?" "OH...no no no...this is actually for me." "Not so loud. My reputation's at stake, here." wink Anything like t…
