I feel for you! I find a lot of women of all ages aren't very self-aware about their feelings about other women and how they can be biased due to jealousy (which is what this sounds like). You can't really do anything to fix that if its in someone, they have to realize it and they may never. This is horrible in a work environment because you can't really escape. When i was younger I got hired at an office working alongside two ladies, one probably 10 years older, the other my moms age. We didn't…

It can feel like you're the only one especially in your age group when so many are living that lifestyle, but its an illusion because the people quietly going about their lives aren't generally noticed. I think the best thing to do to connect with similar minded people is to try to find something among your interests and hobbies that has a local group that gets together to share in that activity. We have a local sewing shop that hosts workshops and lots of teenage girls and moms go and do projec…

I have had similar struggles. A few years ago we took one of those 'love language' quizzes and he scored high on gift giving and I scored high on acts of service. I have always wanted to live minimalist with very little 'stuff' while he likes to collect various things that take up space and need to be stored. His favorite holiday is xmas and he prides himself on finding and picking the best gifts for people. I have tried to steer him towards consumables (like wine, cheese etc.. ) for me or limit…

I would say that keeping your rental property deed(s) in your name is insurance enough. Of course with a baby, if things go south you aren't guaranteed anything... you'll both have a financial and/or care obligation and unless you make equal money and have equal custody one of you will end up having to pay some amount of child support. I don't see that as a bad thing if its done fairly, just a complication that will need to be worked out.. If your fear is being exploited later then a pre-nup and…

I am also guilty of falling off the wagon when the pandemic hit, and getting back on is surprisingly hard after having spent 6 years exercising religiously before. As people have mentioned, diet is the biggest part of weight but exercise is a very useful supplement. for diet I have always been very emotionally resistant to self denial but i tracked my food and calories for a time and cut out or reduced the top few things that added the most calories (cream/sugar in coffee, pasta/bread etc..) and…

It is a very small sample group to make any assumptions about billions of people. If they are not sharing the content of the survey its difficult to verify what the participants are interpreting from the questions. For example there is an oft-quoted study claiming very high numbers of women self reporting rape but it turned out one of the questions was "Have you ever had sex with someone when you didn't want to" and they counted that as rape without acknowledging that someone can consent to do s…

It seems to me that often for women, when friends and family have visibility into your relationship dramas the bar for dropping a guy is pretty low, especially in a new relationship. Really your friends and family are doing an admirable job highlighting what they see as red flags, but no one knows the whole story and whether what you get out of the relationship is worth putting work in on the bad things. What you describe sounds like how I feel sometimes in my relationship, there are some things…

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
