Confidence is a part of attractiveness... it’s independent of looks. Being more physically attractive may help you feel more confident with the opposite sex, but they’re separate metrics.

Someone they feel like can protect them? Like they don’t want to be second fiddle to a guy but women generally want a guy who makes them feel safe. Someone with money, muscles, size, and/or social status, whose also attentive to them and listens. Everything beyond that is how well you click. And everyone clicks with different people

I know how you feel man. Just went thru a breakup under similar circumstances: girl madly in love for a year, crazy sex, on anti anxiety and anti depressant meds, clear issues, then on holiday for two weeks, and sudden coldness and breakup. Check if she has any symptoms of BPD, read gettinbetter.com, and as u/haveagoodlaugh said, hopefully come to accept that she was dysfunctional and that there was nothing you could do. Remember the good times but in the future look to find a girl who can actua…

Take it as an experiment. Rather than just reading about sexual strategies, you got out there and tried red, then blue. Red worked, then blue didn't. Now you have concrete experiences to verify TRP which will improve you moving forward more than reading ever would.

Just remember: women powertalk, not straightalk. They're being manipulative to get what they want, rather than having a logical debate about inter gender dynamics. Does that make you respect them less? Good. Welcome to the red pill.

Protip: if she flaked once, the proper response is, "your loss, have a good life." You say you don't need this shit, but you're the one waiting around after she flaked man.

Discussed this topic with my mom, and she was laughing too. Of course women throw themselves at rich, attractive men. She was laughing at all this fake outrage bullshit along with the rest of y'all. Five stars, RP Mom, much wow.

I have gone through the exact problems as you- the introversion leading to negative thought spirals, the innocence that leads to being too genuine with people, the mental breakdown that occurs in isolation, and the eventual learning to manage my own thoughts and weaknesses on my own (with some therapy). But I've never heard a more perfect analogy than the bricks, glass house, and fort. Thank you.

I'm willing to gamble it's mostly about lying. An unattractive women telling everyone that they've been sexually assaulted not once, but multiple times, is really telling everyone that they're so attractive that a man would risk jail-time just to be with them once. It's a humble brag.

It doesn't bother me that they want to hide their sexual past. They know a large tally is bad, and they want to hide it. It's dishonest, but I get that they became the town bicycle and the only way to recover from that romantically is to lie. But the righteous indignation they have that a potential SO cares about their past is just obnoxious. You were a slut, live with it. He's not the one who fucked up. You are.

Reminds me of the old quote, "it is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." Great poem choice OP- Rudyard has become my favorite poet as I go through my 20's. The Gods of the Copybook Headings is another fantastic choice of his about the natural consequences of improper actions by man and our continuous, never-ending endeavor to avoid those consequences as long as possible.

Biggest lesson I learned was to stop sitting in a room thinking about it and go do something. Anything- lift, run, work, movie, learn something, read. Something. You don't need to indulge in self talk as much as you do. Your mind is always there with you. Now go do something.

Every human relationship is like this. At work, if you don't ever fear being fired you will become complacent, but if you always fear it you will become a neurotic unproductive mess.

Those posts have value depending on the stage you're in. If you've been reading for years, the fact that women can do bad and manipulative things is like being told the sky is blue. But if you're new, getting some perspective on the things women are capable doing to a good man can hold value.

"Player" was a word that made sense- men who understood the game of sexual attraction were playing the game well. "Fuckboy" doesn't make any sense. Everyone guy who has sex is a boy who fucks. ... Why did people change that?

The time you start getting laid is also the time where you stop really giving a toss about what women think. When you don't expect them to fulfill you you don't feel as much of a need to be angry. That said, I would venture to say the anger phase never really leaves. The "women are wonderful" effect in society is still there, even as you accept it.

"Rape culture" is a concept devised by unattractive women to tell everyone that they're so attractive that a man would risk years jail for five minutes with them. It's a destructive, hateful humble brag.

That's the point of the Dune quote- to let the fear pass through you. You can't reject it because that fear is based in something, and you need to understand the source of that fear. But at the same time, you don't need to let it stay within your body and create unnecessary stress. Feel it, understand it, allow it to pass, and act.

Good speech, but as a counter point- it's important to stick with something long enough for it to bear fruit. If you switch careers and companies every year or two you're not going to be a rock star, you're going to be a rudderless but passionate poor person.

You're not alone- I had the same reaction to it. After dabbling with NoFap for a few months, I've found the best for my libido is to jerk off at most once every two days, at minimum once a week. My libido just tanks if I go two weeks without jerking it, almost like a starvation mechanism. I get the NoFap need to separate the desire for porn from the desire for sex if you're having performance issues, but seeing both sides of the coin it seems a bit of masturbation is healthy.

The basic idea is that alpha is a primary signal and beta is a dependent signal. Alpha is smooth and consistent, beta is erratic and reactive. [See Elliot Hulse for reference] It's lead/follow. If people are following you you are Alpha. If you are following people you are Beta. There is no pure line to define a person as universally "Alpha" or "Beta", as an Alpha in one situation may be a Beta in another. But generally, the more of a social leader you are, the more towards Alpha you are.

You've hit the nail on the head about most obnoxious aspect of these anti-RP posts. They declare that the only insight RP brings is "dress well, lift, and be confident," and then mock this strawman by calling RP'ers stupid for not already getting this. No you jackass, the insight the RP brings is about how women interact with attractive men. It's about how women take gifts and kindness as a sign that you're compensating for something. It's about the evolutionary psychology that requires that men…

The trick is not give a shit about being invisible. You're on your own path, living your own life and accomplishing the goals you want to accomplish. Someone wants to come along for the ride? Cool. No? Their loss. But yah, fuck all the PUA bullshit about height not mattering to SMV. It's marketing to get a bigger audience of marks. It's an uncontrollable factor in attraction, so you just got to accept it and keep on lovin' life.

150+.... dude women aren't the only ones who lose the ability to pair bond. Maybe step back a bit. No offense though, this post is excellent and shines a light on the nihilism that TRP (and PUA) seems to build within men. Not that that nihilism is wrong, but it seems to be a consistent result. We're all animals, it is what it is.

Her parents both died when she was young and her one family in life has divorced her. If you're going to sit here and pretend you'd be all there if that happened to be you, then go ahead and cast that stone. It doesn't excuse any shitty behavior, but don't use the actions of a woman with a broken and genuinely awful childhood to somehow extrapolate that women with her mental health issues might become "the norm."

This is why I love the red pill. Little insights you never think about. The phrase "men are the true romantics" is thrown around here, but I can find no starker evidence than the mountains of poetry written by men about women and the absolute dearth of prose going in the opposite direction.

If you really feel that way, I highly recommend giving a CBT therapist a shot. Having someone to talk to about your problems can help you parse out the best way to move forward. But if they give you meds right off the bat, tell them to fuck themselves and find a new therapist. Really give awaltcupcakes tips a proper shake before jumping to conclusions about yourself. Totally agreed. This is just meant as a first step. When I had heavy depressive thoughts, I had trouble escaping a cycle of thinking that I needed to think about my negative thoughts to fix the reason why I had the negative thoughts. The reality is, thinking about the same negative thoughts over and over again isn't as resourceful as I would have liked. Think- what's creating this depression? What is the thought that keeps running through your mind? What memory? What regrets? What fear of the future? Future job prospects? Women? Socializing? Family? Skills? Pinpoint it. Write it all down. Stream of conscious, no judgement, no thought. Man, when you're sitting on your deathbed you're not going to be thinking about the work. You're going to be thinking about the friendships you've built, the lovers you've had, and the family you've grown. Your success enables those relationships to flourish, but please don't lose sight of the fact that those relationships are the real end goal of a happy life.

I hear you man. There's something about the connection that of the lead-follow dynamic that gives you an instantaneous understanding of the woman you're with. Based on subtle things like the pressure of her hands against yours, the smoothness of her movement, and her willingness to flow in the directions that you push her, you get a very quick sense of her level of social anxiety, confidence, and willingness to connect with a man.

The trick is spend time learning skills rather than sitting and thinking yourself into confidence. Thinking that you'll never be at that level is a self fulfilling prophecy, but acting in a way that contradicts your self doubt will erase it fully.

This is beautiful man. If you're boxing is as good as your writing skills I really don't want to face you in the ring. Other martial arts, like Jiu Jitsu, seem to have similar positive effects. This is why gender equity is never going to happen. Women are constantly told to look out for themselves, and themselves alone, and men are constantly told to fall on their swords as often and dramatically as they can.

Most likely because beta people need more meditation than alpha people. Meditation is all about getting your head out of the past and future and putting it in the moment. Betas are constantly in their own heads, following rabbit trails of negative thought, so they need to train being present. Alphas are already present, so they don't need to train it as much. No one's a pure alpha or beta though, so everyone can benefit from some meditation.

Watch the Ted-Ed video on Yin Yang. They hit on the nature of the two- that Yang is active and Yin is passive. Yang is the pot and Yin is the water. Yang f**ks Yin receives. It's a beautifully simple way of understanding the sexually compatible energies of men and women, not just in bed but in life. To be Alpha is to be the pot. To be Beta is to be water. Women don't want more water. They want you to be their pot.

I understand the FI and it's takeover of the culture's view on relationships. I get that the MI is losing. But the FI is driven by millions of self-interested women, and yes the divorce lawyers, politicians, and marketers have driven the FI along as they see the windfalls of supporting the FI in the form of retain-age fees, votes, and sales. But this is chicken and the egg. Are the women or the people selling to them the original source of the BP programming? The sellers are merely fulfilling a …

I hate this ever-present notion that a small number of people are somehow re-engineering and controlling the motivations of billions of self-interested people. This is all the result of prosperity and womens' anxiety about being the first mate to a captain. They simultaneously want the feeling of control while being instantly terrified when they have it. The result is a generation of women posturing about wanting to be the leader, when in reality they want anything but.

This is a grade A example of the truth that women don't want a marriage, they want a wedding. You are not a person to them. You are an object to show off to their friends so that she can show her friends how much better she is at life than them. And we wonder why the half life of female friendships is about six weeks.

Sophistry. This is an informal fallacy of the argument to moderation. The truth is that the left and right are philosophically grounded in the opposing views of collectivism versus individualism. TRP is hyper individualistic. It is right wing. Doesn't mean you have to vote for Trump, it just means that the philosophy of TRP is far more conservative than liberal.

Men, I know the schadenfreude of "post-wall women" is sweet, but please strive for an end goal of empathy as you move through the anger phase. Men might have the burden of performance, but women have the loss of control... the Christmas Cake. Don't be fooled by this. Feminism itself is just the social movement of women who desire more reward for less responsibility. As men and women alike are coming to this understanding, more women shy away from the word because they don't want the men in their lives to think of them as manipulative and lazy. As /u/girlwriteswhat has stated before, the problem isn't the word. It's the women who, whether or not they identify as "feminists," use the social and legal results of feminism the way looters…

Psychologically there may be clusters, but in terms of value to society there's a hard distinct line between being a man and a woman. A "mangina," or a guy who acts like a girl, is essentially "a woman with no value," where the value comes from the scarcity of her womb. (source:girlwriteswhat) As IM said, thanks for that distilled phrase. It's both genius in its brevity and a more complete explanation of the men, wine:woman, milk analogy.

Thomas Sowell's book "A Conflict of Visions" does an excellent job of examining the view that people in the past were different and inferior. The Constrained Vision holds that humans are fallible and have an immutably consistent nature, while the Unconstrained Vision holds that humans are perfectible and instinctively pliable. Given how slow evolution works, the unconstrained view belongs under the category of "stupid." The Constrained Vision opens up one to listen to great voices like Marcus Au…

The number one dictum I've learned from dealing with anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts is this: do not go to the mind to heal the mind, go to the body. Cognitive behavioral therapy taught me to accept anxiety, feel it, and let it pass (think the Litany of Fear) and that by repeating positive thoughts those thoughts will ingrain themselves over the course of years. Meditation and exercise taught me to quiet the mind, enter the body, and ride the endorphins of a workout and sunlight. If y…

That last point- that "naturals" really just learned these lessons earlier is so crucial. No one comes out of the womb with all the tactics, skills, and confidence to become attractive to women. Some boys are just more willing to take the risks early to learn the lessons on the playground. Doesn't matter if they're naturally less risk averse, had a big brother to teach them, or happened to be in circumstances where they got more time with girls. These lessons were learned, not innate.
