I guess we're both virtue signaling then. It's just something people do a lot

Ok. I get it. Is there any chance that I can convince you to delete that? I was wrong for posting that
/r/AntiFeminists24/08/21 05:45 PM

I'm not gonna join people who are so hypocritical that they try to shame any man who doesn't follow enough gender roles one second and complain about the male depression rates the next.
/r/AntiFeminists24/08/21 05:39 PM
1

Using words that are meant to shame men for not being masculine enough against make feminists imply that they think of them as lesser human beings for allegedly not being masculine enough Because being masculine is when you disagree with feminism apparently.
/r/AntiFeminists24/08/21 05:37 PM
1

You guys must be enormous snowflakes if the premise of a man agreeing with feminism triggers you so much that you have to put them down in order to sooth your fragile egos
/r/AntiFeminists24/08/21 05:35 PM
0

Calling people betas is virtue signaling
/r/AntiFeminists24/08/21 05:34 PM
-1

I'd say that calling other guys "soyboy beta cucks" unironically is pretty sexist Also, it's amazing to me that people who are against politically correct language came up with PC versions of calling a guy a p**sy
/r/AntiFeminists24/08/21 04:59 PM
1

The person who calls other guys betas and soyboys and cucks is calling me immature?
/r/AntiFeminists24/08/21 04:58 PM
0

Yeah, trying to shame someone for not being masculine enough implies that you see yourself as a stereotypically masculine person
/r/AntiFeminists24/08/21 04:57 PM
0

You guys put down any man who doesn't follow your gender roles by using sexist slurs
/r/AntiFeminists24/08/21 04:54 PM
1

Yes. Not following the strict gender norms that you guys perpetuate by trying to put down men who don't follow them is being myself
/r/AntiFeminists24/08/21 04:54 PM
0

You sound like your the type of person to put a woman through an abusive relationship because you think compassion is being a "beta"
/r/AntiFeminists24/08/21 04:53 PM
-2

I highly doubt that your as masculine as you say you are.
/r/AntiFeminists24/08/21 04:52 PM
1

Isn't being yourself better then trying to conform to some gender roles?
/r/AntiFeminists24/08/21 04:51 PM
-1

I see you have such fragile masculinity that you feel the need to put down other men to make up for your insecurities
/r/AntiFeminists24/08/21 04:51 PM
-6

You treat anyone who isn't as macho as you think you are like second class citizens and then whine a second later about the suicide and depression rates. Your a hypocrite. Your a bigot. And your a man hater
/r/AntiFeminists24/08/21 04:46 PM
1

You guys literally hate all men who aren't as macho as you imagine yourself to be
/r/AntiFeminists24/08/21 04:45 PM
-6

If being a while knight = agreeing with feminism, I don't see what the problem is
/r/AntiFeminists24/08/21 04:40 PM
-8

That your all sexists for hating men who happen to be feminists
/r/AntiFeminists24/08/21 04:37 PM
-5

Anyone who calls someone a simp is a beta
/r/AntiFeminists24/08/21 04:36 PM
0

Well, you people hate all men who aren't as masculine as you think you are
/r/AntiFeminists24/08/21 03:49 PM
3

Well, your problem is that you've expanded the definition of the term SJW to encompass anything that you ideologically oppose And other movies exist then those four.
/r/AntiFeminists24/08/21 03:48 PM
8

"White knight, mangina" Fuck off, misandrist. If you really cared about men, you wouldn't be using sexist slurs against them in order to shame them for not being as much of a macho tough guy as you think you are
/r/AntiFeminists24/08/21 03:47 PM
1

Then your not a hypocrite and there's nothing wrong with you calling out misandry. I was just checking since the term, "clown world" raised some red flags.
/r/AntiFeminists26/07/21 03:09 PM
1

Are you for calling men beta males and soyboys to shame them for not being stereotypically macho tough guys or are you against it? If your for it, your a misandrist and a hypocrite
/r/AntiFeminists26/07/21 02:53 PM
1

I said that anyone who decides to go to the far right because he read something online a feminist said that hurt his feelings is an easily offened snowflake And your the type to put own other men for having feelings other then anger, so why should I care about yours you misandrist? Nazism is a belief system too but no one considers Nazi Men to be strong, brave or sexy either: And there you go with calling everyone you disagree with a Nazi, great
/r/AntiFeminists26/07/21 02:43 PM
1

You literally said that I and all other guys who agree with feminism have small penises and that zero male feminists are, "strong, brave and sexy" despite the fact that all feminism is, is a belief system. Why are you now complaining that I was rude to you?
/r/AntiFeminists26/07/21 01:57 PM
1

Someone who's masculinity is so fragile that he feels the need to put down other men shouldn't talk
/r/AntiFeminists25/07/21 01:48 PM
2

He thinks that having empathy is a woman thing
/r/AntiFeminists24/07/21 06:16 PM
1

I'm sorry for calling you a snowflake. But the idea that movies have to be completly realistic doesn't make sense . Do you think that the far right people living in Japan get mad whenever an anime is created in which a woman is able to beat up a guy? I thought you were saying that any black person who gets casted is a diversity hire, sorry. My point is that "get woke go broke" is being disproved constantly. Making 38 million dollars while having a budget of 18 million is good
/r/AntiFeminists24/07/21 04:18 PM
1

I understand. Got it.
/r/AntiFeminists24/07/21 03:21 PM
1

Or mabye some men are just more easily offended then others
/r/AntiFeminists24/07/21 02:39 PM
0

Are you also the kind of person who's mad about She Ra not having boobs?
/r/AntiFeminists24/07/21 02:38 PM
0

So, at this point, your using progressive and woke synonymously?
/r/AntiFeminists24/07/21 02:38 PM
0

The fact that your this triggered by women being soldiers, scientists and generals in a movie makes you the snowflake in this situation You cannot say, in good faith, that there's nothing racist about saying that black people are only cast because of the color of their skin and nothing sexist about having this kind of reaction to women in ositions of power I think your in a minority. "The Forever Purge" made 38 million dollars despite having a budget of 18 million already, for example
/r/AntiFeminists24/07/21 02:38 PM
1

Ok. I get it. But are you trying to say that the holocaust wasn't actually that bad?
/r/AntiFeminists20/07/21 06:30 PM
1

Downplaying the holocaust to such an enormous degree that you think feminism is in any way comparable to Naziism is denying that the holocaust was as bad as it actually was
/r/AntiFeminists20/07/21 06:24 PM
1

I'm a joke for getting offended by holocaust denial? No. Your the joke here for thinking it's acceptable to compare anything and anyone that annoys you to the Nazie
/r/AntiFeminists20/07/21 06:19 PM
1

As someone who's Jewish, I find this comparison extremally insulting and hateful
/r/AntiFeminists20/07/21 06:15 PM
1

It was relevant to your question, "we don't want to alienate anyone" I was asking because there are quite a lot of people in the manosphere and on the right who like to unironically call men who they don't think follow enough traditional roles beta males and soyboys in order to force them to conform
/r/AntiFeminists11/07/21 06:03 AM
1

Just out of curiosity, do you think all non-traditionally masculine men are pathetic losers and inferior to you?
/r/AntiFeminists11/07/21 04:14 AM
2

My problem with the manosphere is the whole idea of pretending to card about male suicide rates and calling men whom you don't see as traditionally masculine enough things like soyboy and beta cuck in order to shame him into conformity. I'm a guy and I don't want to support these kinds of people
/r/AntiFeminists11/07/21 04:13 AM
1

Do you also think that all non-anti feminist men are sexual predators?
/r/AntiFeminists11/07/21 04:11 AM
0

Well, it's a manosphere thing. That's more accurate
/r/AntiFeminists21/06/21 01:49 AM
0

I see
/r/AntiFeminists21/06/21 01:05 AM
-1

Oh, I see your point. Thanks. But it is literally man hating.
/r/AntiFeminists21/06/21 12:27 AM
-1

Calling people soyboys is an MRA thing
/r/AntiFeminists20/06/21 11:58 PM
-4

This sub: And if your not masculine enough screw you!
/r/AntiFeminists20/06/21 10:01 PM
2

Does she call men beta male soyboys too?
/r/AntiFeminists18/06/21 06:36 PM
1

No. But they're slurs made to communicate to men who don't meet your standards of masculinity that they are pathetic losers and inadequate in your eyes, therefore meeting the definition of sexism perfectly And the FDS people love those slurs
/r/AntiFeminists18/06/21 04:20 AM
0

The FDS users also use those slurs
/r/AntiFeminists18/06/21 03:45 AM
1

Go onto r/askaliberal, ask what male privilage is and tell me if you understand it better. Because clearly, you do not. And as an anti-SJW, how are you against anti trans people? Isn't that against an anti SJW code or something?
/r/AntiFeminists16/06/21 01:27 AM
1

Do you know the percentage of women who get sexually harassed in England?
/r/AntiFeminists16/06/21 12:44 AM
1

"You wanna know what's the true privileged class on earth? WASP Elites" Wow. Your halfway to acknowledging the fact that white privilege exists. Your way less anti woke then you think you are. Also, intersectionality is the idea that different forms of oppression can intersect and that social justice activism must stand against all forms of oppression
/r/AntiFeminists15/06/21 07:40 PM
1

- They are. Constantly. Look at r/gendercynical for some examples
/r/AntiFeminists15/06/21 06:45 PM
2

Yeah, no ones forcing them to listen to it. You are a very good writer by the way
/r/AntiFeminists15/06/21 05:30 PM
1

But as a guy, I don't see why I have to act "dominant" 100 percent of the time when in a relationship. It sounds exausting
/r/AntiFeminists15/06/21 05:27 PM
1

I was defining SIMPing as acting submissive
/r/AntiFeminists15/06/21 02:41 PM
1

As long as it's not to the extent that your in an unhealthy or abusive relationship, I don't see why a little simping here and there is such a bad thing as long as the other person does it too Also, you'd be surprised by how much fans of female conservative commentators simp for them in the YouTube comments
/r/AntiFeminists15/06/21 02:12 PM
1

Is Bad Bunny, the male reggaeton artist a cuck for being pro feminism? And you can't say he's just doing it to follow a trend or to pander because he's the first male reggaeton artist to be pro feminism and others have been just as successful as him without saying that they are
/r/AntiFeminists15/06/21 04:35 AM
1

Good luck with your making baseless assumptions of other people in order to slander them to make yourself feel better. Such a beta thing to do
/r/AntiFeminists14/06/21 09:54 PM
1

That sub calls any man who calls a comment sexist or expresses support for feminism a white knight so, I don't think it's a good source for anything
/r/AntiFeminists14/06/21 08:09 PM
1

Don't MRAs usually call anyone calling anyone else sexist against women an SJW who's virtue signaling or something? That's intersectionality. Your literally advocating for intersectionality to own the libs Also, I did not expect someone in this sub to actually be ok with someone finding JK rowlings views offensive. It's a nice surprise
/r/AntiFeminists14/06/21 04:48 PM
0

Calling you an asshole for making a sexist comment is debasing myself? Ok, sure. Whatever makes you happy Also, it sounds like your making a ton of assumptions of all guys who call out sexism based on nothing
/r/AntiFeminists14/06/21 04:45 PM
1

"A white knight's empathy is gone when the gender is reversed" Proof? And do you have proof that any man who defends a woman in any way is just doing it to get something in return? Also, ironically, the whole thing about men protecting women is actually a pretty traditional gender role so conservatives should be for it
/r/AntiFeminists14/06/21 03:47 PM
3

I mean, they should be able to choose without being socially ostracized. I don't have to act like a macho tough guy if I don't want to and I'm not put in situations that call for it
/r/AntiFeminists14/06/21 03:34 PM
1

So, your problem is that you can't imagine how a guy could have enough empathy for a woman to want to defend her sincerely? That says more about you then it does about those people
/r/AntiFeminists14/06/21 03:10 PM
1

So, your problem is that you can't even imagine how a guy could have enough empathy to sincerely want to defend someone from a sexist comment? Doesn't that say more about you then it does about them?
/r/AntiFeminists14/06/21 03:07 PM
1

How do you know that if someone tells another guy online not to make a sexist comment, that it's for personal gain/gaining woman attention? Can you suddenly read minds?
/r/AntiFeminists14/06/21 03:04 PM
1

My point is that guys should be able to choose
/r/AntiFeminists14/06/21 03:03 PM
1

The whole "your an SJW if you complain about my sexism but if I complain about your sexism, I'm not" thing is very hypocritical Also, your the real misandrist since your extremally sexist toward any man who isn't traditionally masculine If all an SJW is, is a shitty person, how do you explain the massive amount of people who were called SJWs for reviewing movies in a way anti SJWs didn't like, banning someone for breaking the rules of a sub(conservative subreddits have extremally strict TOS, jus…
/r/AntiFeminists14/06/21 02:46 PM
1

That's not what you think so why would you see a guy as a pathetic loser if he stands up for a woman?
/r/AntiFeminists14/06/21 02:41 PM
2

Alright. I'm just glad I never went through this process. I've seen the MGTOW sub and it turns out that they hate simps so much that they can't even listen to most music anymore. Why would I want to end up like that? And why would I want to end up as someone who's overly paranoid about feminist propaganda except when it's in an anime?
/r/AntiFeminists14/06/21 12:39 PM
1

And they react with Reee misandry whenever someone criticizes men. So, your an SJW and so is everyone else in this sub A white knight is someone who only does what they do in order to convince women to sleep with them. Do you have proof of their insincerity? Nope, most of the time when someone gets called an SJW, it's not for being an asshole. If that's what it means, then it doesn't make sense that it's only used that way 20 percent of the time How is it pro left? It sounds like you think an SJ…
/r/AntiFeminists14/06/21 12:18 PM
3

I'm not a fan of the whole "your an SJW if you complain about sexism against women but if I complain about sexism against men I'm not" mindset. It's really hypocritical
/r/AntiFeminists13/06/21 11:32 PM
0

As a man, a lot of MRAs come across as misandrists to me due to their tendency to endlessly shame all men who aren't as masculine as them in order to enforce traditional gender roles and make those men feel horrible about themselves 2. "Soyboys and beta males" And there you go with the man-hating/misandry. Right on cue. Let me put this in terms you'd understand. Calling someone a beta or a soyboy is a beta thing to do
/r/AntiFeminists13/06/21 11:17 PM
0

Calling people soyboys and beta males is kind of a signature MRA thing. Also, do you have any proof that all feminist guys are faking their views in order to get laid? Or is this just something you feel?
/r/AntiFeminists13/06/21 10:42 PM
-1

How is men's health supposed to improve when misandrists like you call any man who dares to not meet your standards of masculinity these things to shame him?
/r/AntiFeminists13/06/21 10:39 PM
-1

If you guys stopped calling men beta males and soyboys, it would be lower
/r/AntiFeminists13/06/21 10:35 PM
3

The bottom part is very true. If you say anything even slightly disrespectful toward men, a lot of the MRA/anti SJW types get really offended. For example, when they spent over a year flipping out over Brie Larsons one comment Edit: Yes, they often make good points
/r/AntiFeminists13/06/21 10:34 PM
1

So if someone disagrees with you, he's not a man?
/r/MensRights27/05/21 02:46 PM
-9

Kind of like how people call "woke liberals" SJWs without giving anything to the discussion?
/r/MensRights27/05/21 02:09 PM
-1

I can detect it easily. No, they were trying to say that guys excusing bullying with boys will be boys is bad Also, the term toxic masculinity was literally invented by a man, just so you know
/r/MensRights27/05/21 03:22 AM
2

I'll also point that out. They said "boys will be boys" to mock people who say boys will be boys. And the point wasn't all men are the same, the point was that it's a common thing to say
/r/MensRights27/05/21 03:16 AM
-7

If I see a guy doing something messed up, I'll say something(as long as I don't think he's gonna beat me up if I do). But I haven't gotten the opportunity to yet. I have called guys out for being blatantly racist since then, if that counts Did they say that "men need to do better?" If so, I get why people thought that was offensive.
/r/MensRights27/05/21 03:03 AM
-7

I'm a guy and I was actually fine with it. It didn't come across as man hating to me. Also, if workers controlled the means of production at Gilette and a large amount of the workers were woke, that ad would have still came out.
/r/MensRights27/05/21 02:47 AM
-2

Yes, feminists can be hypocrites. Also, I edited it to sound less like an attack. My proof is that if you search SJW or woke, you'll see some of the usual generic anti SJW stuff. And anti SJWs as a whole have a problem with double standards, not just MRAs
/r/MensRights27/05/21 01:53 AM
-24

Can I call you guys SJWs whenever you get offended by someone saying something about men to point out your hypocricy?
/r/MensRights26/05/21 11:12 PM
-1

As a man, I see no problem with this
/r/MensRights26/05/21 11:09 PM
-7

Aren't you the kind of person who whines about SJW snowflakes? My point is, it's hypocritical for someone to reach this far and get this offended over something like this one second and whine about SJW bogeymen getting offended by something the next.
/r/MensRights26/05/21 11:07 PM
-1

Well, screw those people. But that's not enough to transform me into an anti-feminist and an anti-SJW. That's why I prefer r/menslib. The people there are completly against this stuff
/r/MensRights28/04/21 03:12 PM
0

So, your saying that the man who invented that term thought that the traits he considered toxic masculinity aren't real masculinity and only the effects of a lack of it?
/r/MensRights28/04/21 03:10 PM
0

I agree with mens rights. I just don't agree with antifeminism. That's it.
/r/MensRights28/04/21 03:09 PM
-2

Do you think toxic masculinity means all masculinity is toxic? Also, a man invented that term
/r/MensRights28/04/21 05:48 AM
1

I'm also a guy, just so you know. And I agree with plenty of the stuff I see on this sub
/r/MensRights28/04/21 05:25 AM
0

In my opinion, people shouldn't be shamed in either direction. But I do hear feminists say that feminism is about being able to choose what roles to follow and not follow all the time
/r/MensRights28/04/21 05:21 AM
-3

No, I'm talking about the people who call men, "soyboys" and "beta male cucks" And if you respond to this by saying, "only a soyboy beta male cuck would complain about that" you aren't being clever and your proving my point You are right about the incel thing though
/r/MensRights28/04/21 05:16 AM
-19

The people in this subreddit beleive that it's ok to call guys who don't meet their standards of masculinity soyboys and beta males. How is that not misandry and man hating? How is shaming someone for not being macho enough and judging their self worth on testostrone not misandry? And if you respond to this comment by calling me these things, you will be proving my point
/r/MensRights28/04/21 03:36 AM
0

Isn't getting this offended by an article that you refuse to see a movie that you were originally going to see kind of oversensitive? No?
/r/AntiFeminists21/04/21 08:13 PM
1

You would never tolerate a post like this if the genders were reversed
/r/MensRights25/03/21 01:16 AM
0

Aren't you the same people who use the "soyboy" slur? Your not one to talk You can call me that as many times as you want. That doesn't change the fact that your misandrists
/r/MensRights24/03/21 09:38 PM
1

Because I misspelled one word I'm stupid?
/r/MensRights19/02/21 02:41 PM
1

Your one to talk.
/r/MensRights19/02/21 03:45 AM

"Cuckold" If you actually cared about men, you wouldn't be shaming them for not being masculine enough. When you guys talk about the male suicide rate and depression rate and then call anyone who you don't see as masculine soyboy's and cucks and beta males, you come across as the biggest hypocrites and the biggest misandrists ever. The point of me saying r/AsABlackMan wasn't to accuse him of pretending to be black. It was to point out how ridicoulus it is that he was saying, "as a black man" at …

/r/MensRights18/02/21 03:57 PM

Your generalizing feminists as people who generalize men as rapists, abusers and pedophiles etc. Your being a hypocrite. And wasn't the kill all men thing years ago?
/r/MensRights18/01/21 05:19 AM
2

I'm glad someone on this sub is able to notice how that term is pretty sexist against men.
/r/MensRights25/11/20 03:44 AM
2

How has this sub not been banned yet?
/r/MGTOW09/11/20 08:07 PM
6

You: Any guy who doesn't fit the image of a stereotypical macho tough guy needs to be shamed for being who they are Also you: I don't get it. Why is male depression and the male suicide rate so high? Your part of the problem
/r/MensRights16/10/20 06:25 PM
5

Mabye if they stopped calling men who aren't macho tough guys, "soyboys", "beta males" and "cucks" to try and make them feel like they aren't good enough, they wouldn't be considered trash. Have you ever thought of that? I'm saying this as a man who's sick and tired of people doing this.

Someone else downvoted me.
/r/ExRedPill07/10/20 09:45 PM

It's ironic that Rohld Dahl condems ugly thoughts himself while simultaniously being someone who praised hitler and constantly said the ugliest things about Jewish people. Downvote me all you want but, it's the truth

/r/ExRedPill07/10/20 08:27 PM

Sorry for making assumptions. It's just that I tend to expect this kind of dehumanizing of SJW's to come from the right more then the left. It does dehumanize SJW's if you think that that they are so inferior to you that they deserve to be doxed and threatened for mistakes they've made. Obviously Chanty Binx is a terrible person if whoever that is thinks male suicide is hilarious
/r/MensRights25/04/20 05:19 AM
1

I was never told that guys shouldn't show specific emotions by my parents so that might have something to do with why I think this way
/r/MensRights24/04/20 06:05 PM
1

Even if it does make you "feminine" in the eyes of men who follow traditional gender norms and stereotypes, I still don't believe that it's good to constantly tell boys to suck it up whenever they feel sad
/r/MensRights24/04/20 06:04 PM
1

I actually disagree with the idea that you should convince boys and men to never cry and never show sadness no matter what. That's what I consider to be toxic masculinity.
/r/MensRights24/04/20 06:01 PM
2

What you just said actually makes sense. I will think about it.
/r/MensRights24/04/20 09:47 AM
1

Being overly aggressive all the time is toxic and being insistent on bottling up your emotions throughout your entire life is toxic. I do agree with you that self reliance is a good thing. I do agree with you that being competitive is a good thing. Also, as a man, why would I want to be stoic and suppress my emotions? That sounds like an exhausting and painful way to live.
/r/MensRights24/04/20 05:05 AM

Disliking movies with female leads because they have female leads is mysoginistic. If your able to look past the "SJW" casting of Star Wars and Captain Marvel and instead concentrate on if the movies are good or not, you are not being mysoginistic. In terms of Ghostbusters(2016) it depends on how angry you are about the cast being changed to women. Please look up toxic masculinity on wikipedia before assuming that we think all masculine traits are toxic. Actually look up what it means. Then tell…

Also, have you ever heard of empathy? Are you aware that SJW's are human beings too who aren't inferior to you just for being SJW's? Seriously, at least none of us on the left advocate for random right wing people with no power to be harrassed and doxxed and more on the internet

So much for the tolerant right! If anyone on the left said that someone like Ben Shapiro deserved to be doxxed and harassed and more, no one on the right would stand for it. You guys get away with way more then we can get away with.

Fanservice isn't an integral part of any story. It just exists becsuse it's a cheap way of attracting guys
/r/MensRights23/04/20 10:38 PM

Why should an extreme level of fanservice exist? Is there a cultural reason for it? I thought the only reason for it is that showing women with enormous boobs in revealing outfits makes a show more marketable toward guys? It shows an enormous lack of empathy that you decide to think "I don't care that there's studies done which show that the media oversexualizing women and creating unrealistic standards of beauty negatively affects their mental health, I need my fanservice!"
/r/MensRights23/04/20 10:02 PM
1

Answer this. Why would less extreme fan-service and more realistic drawings of women ruin the show for you? Why would that bother you if fanservice became a little more toned down when it's unnececary?
/r/MensRights23/04/20 09:54 PM
1

I will. But if you want reassurance that we are on board with quite a lot of anime, type in anime feminist on google and you will find quite a lot of people praising popular series for being progressive. It's just that fanservice can be a little much sometimes
/r/MensRights23/04/20 09:49 PM
1

Ok. Well, my personal opinion is that anime is already progressive as it is. A lot of people on my side agree with me. The only thing that should change is to dial back the fanservice a little bit. It can be distracting. Also, I don't think artists and authors should be forced to change anything. I do think that people could politely make requests about future projects if they want to
/r/MensRights23/04/20 09:48 PM

It would be nice if people toned it down on the fanservice just a little bit though. It can be distracting

Like I said. Anime and manga don't need to be changed since they already are SJW. They already portray women in progressive and empowering ways with some exceptions like Seven Deadly sins. No changes are needed. At all.
/r/MensRights23/04/20 09:44 PM
1

To sum it up Japan doesnt need to change anything at all. They already make anime and manga with respectful portrayals of women in ways that line up with progressive viewpoints. And I'm saying this as a democratic socialist. I'm that far left.
/r/MensRights23/04/20 09:43 PM
1

I don't know that much about anime and manga. I just started watching it a year ago. And your misunderstanding my point. I'm saying that we don't need to change anything in manga and anime. It already portrays women in a progressive and feminist friendly way. Type in the word feminist and anime on google and you'll fine so many examples dating back to the time when Sailor Moon came out
/r/MensRights23/04/20 09:40 PM
1

To answer your first point, I don't get why anime can't be SJW since it's fictional but western movies can To answer your second point. It seems like anti-SJWs online are reading from a script when every single one of them repeats the exact same examples of strong female characters they are ok with. It's a little weird
/r/MensRights23/04/20 09:39 PM
1

I'm not an imperialist but feminism already exists in Japan. They might not call it that, but a women's lib movement exists and men who don't agree with traditional gender roles exist. They don't all agree with you
/r/MensRights23/04/20 09:34 PM
0

Yes. Exactly! Anime is fictional and not real life. And so is Ghostbusters(2016), so is Captain Marvel and so is every other movie that offended your side. I don't see why you tolerate female empowerment in anime and not in western movies Also, why is it that Ripley from Aliens and eight other characters from the nineties and eighties are always the only female characters that people from your side can name that you enjoyed? And why is it that it's always the same characters that everyone mentio…

This fantasy you guys have that womans rights and feminism doesn't exist in Japan isn't true. I found this blog called anime feminist which interviewed a male anime creator who was not only a feminist, but also had a group of people in Japan to talk to who thought like him. There's an entire thing about Shinzo Abe trying to get as many women in the workplace as possible, there's the lawsuit and case that was won in relation to workplace harassment of women when they are having kids or pregnant. …

It's very strange that even though your side advocates for traditional gender roles and progressive gender roles not being shown on screen(you know, leftist propoganda) your fine with non traditional gender roles and sterotypes in anime
/r/MensRights23/04/20 09:20 PM

It amazes me that, because anime characters who are girls are normally dressed in revealing outfits and look sexualized, people on your side are incapable of noticing that in a ton of Shouen(like Attack On Titan) women are portrayed in a way that you would hate if they were portrayed in the exact same way in a western show or movie.

/r/MensRights23/04/20 09:12 PM

I actually think propoganda is a strong word. It's more like, leftist creators enjoy putting political themes in their work and they have for quite some time. Wall E was made over a decade ago and that had an environmental message. The left is the side who cares the most about that stuff.
/r/MensRights23/04/20 09:10 PM

My point is that it's frustrating to get mixed messages from everyone. SJW cringe compilations directly contradict any claims that SJWs have fringe beleifs that no leftist would ever agree with.
/r/MensRights23/04/20 09:05 PM

I'm just asking people to have some consistency and to not create conflicting messages. On one hand, you have popular cringe compilation channels calling people SJWs for politely asking Trump to not call COVID-19 "the Chinese virus" and for being assertive or angry at all(just look at the whole Big Red thing) and on the other hand, you have people claiming that SJWs are a fringe minority with ideas that no one shares. It's so confusing Also, movies and books were leftist propoganda long before t…

I'm not an idiot. I was given misinformation. I've heard other people on the left and in the center tell me that an "SJW" is someone with fringe views that almost nobody agrees with. And I keep hearing a ton of people say that "SJWs are a small minority" So, no. I'm not stupid. I've been given misinformation.

You can't fool me. I've watched SJW cringe compilations. I've watched anti-SJW videos. I know what people did to the Gamergate journalists. I know that Big Red was harassed and doxxed on the internet for..getting angry one time when people were interrupting her(saw the clip). Don't pretend that SJW only refers to specific fringe viewpoints

Good. Now I can use this video as an example of how the word "SJW" doesn't just apply to a small minority of fringe leftists and how there's quite a long list of things you can do that would classify you as an SJW(talk about rape accusations, call video games sexist, protest in a way that inconveniences other people, claim that white privilege exists, claim that sexism exists, agree with feminism, race swap a character from white to black, advocate for diversity, say that Trump shouldn't be call…

How can you show someone being strong and powerful and empowered and confident in a mocking way? Your kind of assuming that everyone shares your worldview.
/r/MensRights27/03/20 03:45 PM

I have some thoughts about what you just said. I'm gonna need to answer in a 1,2... Format 1. "Laugh and be entertained when skinny girls beat big dudes" Usually that's not played for laughs though. You really think that every time girls are shown on screen being more powerful and skilled then a guy, it's supposed to be funny? That thought never crossed my mind 2 "men's lives miserable" Really? Some people not liking when traditional gender roles are shown on screen ruins the fun for you and mak…

Would you agree that showing emotionally complex kale characters that aren't all stoic all the time(like Kirito) who are also strong in many ways creates a message that it's ok to not repress your emotions at all times and that it dosent make you weak to be expressive?
/r/MensRights27/03/20 12:39 PM

I'm someone that actually is a "woke/SJW/feminist/liberal" so I have a completly different opinion on what woke and feminism is then someone who uses this subreddit would.
/r/MensRights27/03/20 05:39 AM

Feminists tend to appreciate the female characters from tons of really popular anime series, and that's not for no reason. There is such a thing as making a female character in a way that's empowering for the women watching and that happens in anime a lot.
/r/MensRights27/03/20 05:37 AM
0

Yes but there is such a thing as showing a female character in a progressive way in an anime. That's all I'm saying
/r/MensRights27/03/20 05:34 AM
2

I accidently called Avatar an anime. There are actually tons of western shows that draw influences from anime. Voltron Legendary Defender has a ton of anime influences(since it's adapted from an actual anime)
/r/MensRights27/03/20 05:13 AM
1

Can't you still make a woke character without wokeness being the intention? If your trying to make a "cool and fun" female character, a bit of wokeness can sometimes come as a side effect of that. You can't tell me that Mikasa from Attack On Titan follows traditional on screen gender roles for women. Yeah, I know, the reason why she's stronger then everyone else is worked into the plot, but still.
/r/MensRights27/03/20 05:12 AM
1

Also, if anime creators are marketing anime toward teenage boys without feminism and wokeness in mind and they still manage to create complex female characters that are strong powerful and confident, that are in dominant positions and aren't written around romantic relationships, they are doing it sincerely since they have no political or monetary reason to write characters like this. They just happen to like writing more progressive female characters. Tell me if I'm wrong please
/r/MensRights27/03/20 03:39 AM

I don't think you can say that none of the writers of anime have progressive views toward women and it would be pretty racist to generalize all guys in Japan as being against feminism. I've looked into this and there's actually a Japanese word for women's lib and a wikipedia article about it so it's not an entirely foreign concept
/r/MensRights27/03/20 03:26 AM
1

If anime characters check off all the boxes of what feminists typically want female characters to be, then how does it not count as coincidentally feminist? Your idea that a character can't be feminist friendly if that character is supposed to be marketable makes no sense. Look up "anime feminist" on Google and you'll find dozens of anime that people you would consider to be SJW feminists are praising for lining up with feminism.
/r/MensRights27/03/20 03:02 AM
1

That's why I said coincidentally.
/r/MensRights27/03/20 02:32 AM

Also, how does Akame Ga Kill not have any elements of feminism in it? It's full of female characters standing up for themselves, Tatsumi needs to be saved by a female character twice in the first eleven episodes. The strongest characters in the show are female characters and eventually, the empire gets taken over by the leader of night raid who is a woman. It's not subtle at all. I thought anti SJW's hate it when feminism isn't shown subtley

You know the thing in anime with having really emotional male characters? There's something that feminists like to talk about called, "toxic masculinity." An aspect of toxic masculinity, according to them, is the idea that guys need to repress their emotions. Therefore, intentional or not, showing strong male characters that are also able to express a lot of emotion(like Eren and Armin) goes against this aspect of toxic masculinity. I am aware that it is intentional. That doesn't mean it doesn't…

I think characters in these shows are examples of being both. Also, I'm not an expert on what is and isn't SJW propoganda.
/r/MensRights27/03/20 02:20 AM

When you say, "inherently fetishistic" are you talking about the character designs? Or are you saying that showing female characters having complex personalities, fully developed backstories and stronger then the male characters is fetishizing women?
/r/MensRights27/03/20 02:19 AM
1

Anime can still line up with western feminism coincidentally.
/r/MensRights27/03/20 02:11 AM
3

At least you see my point. I'm just saying that it's interesting to me that people are much less likely to admit that it's in older shows and stuff like that then in new ones.
