The study you're referring to had a sample size far too small to make any conclusive statements about either gender as a whole. Furthmore, similar studys conducted on the same subject found the opposite, that women were more likely to leave a sick partner. Edit: to clarify, that doesnt mean I believe women are more likely to leave a critically ill partner, just that I don't believe there is enough concrete data to conclusively prove either gender is more likely to do that.

You could make this same argument about any group, movment or ideology. For example, there are plenty of good politicians, that doesnt invalidate criticisms of the government. I agree that feminism was and is very important for the advancment of womens rights, but it's also important to recognize where an ideology errs or falls short. I think you're being overly cynical OP. In my experience there are plenty of women who are willing to go 50/50, or who will pay for the second date if you paid for the first. I live in a pretty progressive city though, so that may skew my experience. Feminism is not inherently left wing and never has been, a majority of the first wave feminists and suffragettes were socially conservative, and some were even borderline fascist in their racial politics. There certainly are left wing feminists, but if you look throughout its history a majority of its leaders have been rightwing reactionary and/or establishment aligned.
