That's why Reddit is and always will be an echo chamber. You just can't be exposed to differing views on this site, because they're always being muted by the downvote. I remember there was a post on AskReddit that said:"what opinion you have that would upset Reddit?". The most upvoted posts there were pretty normal views that most redditors have, but if you sorted by controversial you saw the very posts that the OP was asking for. If that doesn't prove that people use upvotes wrong I don't know …
