Man is in reference to the human race, not specifically only men. This means that a dog is also woman's best friend too.

I've been recently noticing the differing standards at my school too. This is only a small example but our rec facility has both male and female locker rooms/showers. The difference is that the women's showers are private, with individual stalls for getting naked/wet/changed, yet the men's room is apparently one large communal room. I know that some people don't mind when others see them naked, but to me this seems like a huge oversight. Men should get privacy and equal privileges too, because t…

I think it's a prank, the boy band pics look like recent print outs and are all on top of pics of kids. If a really infatuated woman did this there would be more effort, more collages and more decoration.

In response to the title alone: It makes men more like women to remove it? That's funny, cuz I've still got the hood of my clit.

I was with you until if then man wants it but the woman doesn't. I think if they both want it, then she gets cold feet and changes her mind, it makes sense for him to have the baby, but if I want an abortion and am within the period to get one, and he wants to raise the child... I don't think I'd be about to come to full term just to hand it over. This isn't out of spite either, it's just that putting the mother at risk for 9 months, throughout the hormones and everything, is a big violation of …

I think you did a great job communicating your opinion, and that they sound a little oblivious (by your description of the class and by their response) but accommodating. Nicely done!

Which is why, after the initial ask, I generally go for an even-odd trade off. I know not everyone is the same, I'm just giving myself as an example of a female who understands that one person should not pay for all.

The person who asks traditionally pays in my opinion. I have also always maintained a dutch lifestyle on other dates, but now my husband and I trade one for one on a general basis. If you don't pay now, you pick up the next one.

I'm a lady and I say good on you, that woman is out of line and in need of a dose of reality and compassion.

I love that you included 'some' in the title. Those who abuse others and the system can suck on moldy balls.

What the? Seriously. What stereotypes? They shouldn't have sent out an email at all, especially to those uninvited. They should have just privately spoke about it after hours, and that would be fine. They want a girls night, they shouldn't rub it in your face, but they're not actually doing anything sexist.

Even as a woman I also get this feeling when checking someone out in passing. I used to work as a clothes buyer and it's hard to stop looking at labels and recognizing brands, but all it looks like to them is leery eyes and ass checks. Thank goodness for sunglasses.

/mensrights is not for everybody No, it's for everybody who wants to stand up for men. Putting down one sex doesn't exactly raise the other. They're just words used to make you feel better and others feel worse, almost like they're shielding the insecurities of your own opinion. If anything, it makes your argument more emotionally charged when it contains those words, a stronger argument wouldn't require smear tactics such as those. Your argument is stronger without that language, zihuatanejo is…

I never said my hoo-has was 'precious', I said I get incredibly tense knowing a large speculum will be inserted into me and therefore if I am feeling more tense than normal, I am just impeding the doctor from doing a good job because my body will not relax and release. This has nothing to do with me thinking any less of male doctors, just that their presence would mean that my exam would be that much harder for both of us. I'm sure many women agree, it's not that we think any less of you. I will…

I would ask a male doctor to leave because I'm simply not used to men other than my husband seeing me naked like that. I am normally quite tense when visiting my obgyn for anything like a smear [I don't enjoy speculums] and having a male in the room would just increase my discomfort. Otherwise, if it's all talk, let him stay.

If I were the son, I would probably feel like my mom was copping out. They don't have to be given life long sex offender status, but making the next few months of their lives hell with community service and shame for their actions is appropriate.

My dad had cancer when I was growing up and my parents got a divorce shortly after. Had the timeline been different, if I was not able to be with him while he was sick, I would have been inconsolable. Yes, being there was hard. Seeing him sick was hard. But being able to comfort him and support him made it worth it, and I'm sure that's all these kids care about, too. TL;DR: Helen Lovejoy says 'Will someone please think of the children?'

8/9 ratio. I can't believe people would blindly upvote this obviously sensationalized title as opposed to actually reading it to decide it's validity. Welcome to MR.

I don't understand the title. Who is saying that she won't be reprimanded? This is a pretty sad sack article to be basing that title on. A man died, that in itself is terrible, but not once is it said that the female driver would not be penalized. She has three counts against her 1] ok weather, 2] distracted by child and 3] she hit him. Does this really point to him not getting his justice? [edit: by him getting justice, I guess I mean that although he's dead, she would be punished 'accordingly'…

Thank you for pointing out that he was quoting someone, I did not initially realize that from the video [silly of me, but true]. Keeping that in mind, I still feel that it was rude and unprofessional for him to refer to her as 'dear' in that context. I would be annoyed and embarrassed, especially after the round of laughter following. In that context his wording is belittling.

He refers to the woman as 'dear' and refers to himself as a 'doctor' in the same sentence. I would consider that very patronizing and rude, especially in that context.

I don't see how my comment is any different than the one I initially replied to, if only that it changes male to female. No one is down voting ABsynth808's comment even though they are generalizing just as much as I am.

In 1991, women without children earned 95% of what men earned, while women with children earned 75%. The difference isn’t between men and women, it’s between women with children and those without. So the difference isn't between men and women because you haven't bothered to look up the results for men? Interesting fact check, OP.

All sexual assault is not rape, I expect MensRights to understand that of all places, you guys talk about it enough. It says grabbed, so use grabbed. Sexual assault does not equal sex, or even touching in some cases. Both she and you lied about the sexual assault for attention, interesting.

I don't condone lying about attacks or rape, but you're adding a lot to the story you posted. We don't know she called the cops herself, she could have just told her parents the lie because she's unhappy and 12 and thought they wouldn't do anything because she was only "grabbed" (it never actually says raped, you just assumed it).

What does this even have to do with men's rights? Most of the posts I find in men's rights are articles about women, what's with this?

Ehh, although it is a more invasive procedure, I don't believe that that is a reasonable argument for why permission is necessary in one case but not the other. I think the doctors require permission from the spouse in order to cover their own asses if things should run afoul down the line. I do think it's silly in most cases, but I understand why it is in practice.

That article says women with no children still make 90 cents per every man's dollar. Is that actually equal?
