I have, it was just cost, but reading your post made me want to get back into that routine. So thank you!

Same here. My nails and hands don't mix well with the bar. The other thing I found, because I'm not shy about helping, moving heavy things, etc., was my legs. Bruises all over from weightlifting and being active. It's one of the few reasons I like fall and winter - I can wear tights with skirts and hide the bruises from the gym.

Do purchase clothes that fit properly. Anyone at any size looks worse in tight clothes that are too small. Don't think you'll drop those 5 or 10 lbs and buy for future you... Buy for today. You can treat yourself to new clothes once you've hit those goals, and you've looked classy doing it too.

Actually, this is a great point. When I was referring to validation earlier, I meant it in the sense that someone listened to your thoughts or opinions, thought about them, and replied by trying to offer some sort of understanding, problem solving, etc. They don't have to agree, but at least they didn't simply dismiss them. In my specific reference to my ex, as an example if my ex was not being affectionate or attentive in front of his friends with me, I might say later that when he acts like th…

Validation is so important. It means they listen and care. I never realized how important it was until I left my ex, who would completely disregard my feelings.

Don't worry about what you can't control. The past is over, focus on being a better person and happier in the future. You can reserve the right to be smarter today than you were yesterday. So forgive yourself, and into the future!

I grew up thinking the way my parents functioned was normal, and though I love my mother, she is the most negative and selfish person I know and would rather wallow in misery than try to truly be happy. Because of this, I've done a lot of personal learning and really worked on how I engage with my partners, but it was a blunderous struggle and only in the past few years have I finally both chosen to be happy in my life and be a more positive person. Key things in this were "don't worry about wha…

Ditto to this. I got into powerlifting and triathlons and can do so much more with a strong body. Plus I look great, and feel even better. PM me if you want some resources.

I was like this when I didn't respect my partners. I didn't value their opinions, their experience, their decisions... I felt very independent and like it was me vs. the world, not us vs. the world. Do you honestly respect your partner?

I semi-agree with you, but that's from personal experience. Sure, I'm more horny during that period, but it's not a driving force at all for why I want to see a guy or hang out with a guy. The motivation is not as strong in comparison. What's your experience?

This all became more clearer when I really, truly acknowledged the physiology behind this all. Sex is physical drive for men, it's a lot more mental for women.

I learned this far too late and got very good at being a happy single person, career driven, and so many amazing things going on in my life that a guy never felt needed around me, felt like they could lead, like they could have a family with me, etc. You definitely need a balance.

I definitely understand where you're coming from about setting those expectations early. I had a guy once lay it out immediately on the first date. On one hand it was great that he had it settled in his mind, but the uneasiness for me came from knowing I could be there with him for what he wanted but I needed time to get there as I wasn't ready. Timing didn't work out because of this and thus, neither did we.

The above comment is great advice. A few things I've learned are that you make decisions based on the information you have at the time, and also, it's okay to make mistakes as long as you learn from them. From what you said, at least if you communicate that you want to be supportive and around during this uncertain time for him, he may be willing to discuss options for you both. It's only been three months as well which is still fairly new for a relationship.

Lucky guy! My bf and I are all about the snuggles and fun too. This is really one of the first relationships I've had where I feel like there is an abundance of affection. It's really great. So happy to hear about you both! When you do have fun with him, is he having one orgasm for that six times a week, or more each time? I really feel like the age difference actually makes a terrific match for sexual energy.

Do a lot of you carry make up with you regularly? My SO mentioned this to me and I didn't think it was a thing. His friends' wives are quite done up when I see them (one even keeps perfume with her all the time) and in an effort to move from the more athletic type to the more feminine type, I'm thinking I should try this.

I've always had a clothing to skin ratio that I try to follow, so boots can afford you a slightly shorter skirt or sleeveless top, for example. Longer sleeves and longer skirt mean I can accentuate my legs with heels more. Also depends on the season. Summertime means sleeveless (strappy tops are a no) and fall/winter means tights, which can improve the clothing to skin ratio and give you some more freedom in your wardrobe!

Ditto. I'm 36 and the past couple years have actually been my best. But I could also mark some of that up to knowing more about style, make-up, etc.
