What really turned the corner for me was the first trip with EWB. Meeting mothers in horrific poverty who just wanted to make sure their kids wouldn't die from contaminated water and could attend school really put my own life in perspective. I hope you can reach a similar place in life someday kind stranger.

Yeah. It really messes up your ability to trust other people. I'd agree on it not being very common in my experience. Just the one crazy ex. Didn't help that I look closer to Quasimodo than Brad Pitt. That lead to me focusing so much of my self worth on external validation and whether or not I was having sex. Years of therapy later and I can find contentment in being an uncle and working with Engineers Without Borders. Making sure that villages in Africa have cheap proper water filtration device…

I had both of those things happen because of my ex-girlfriend. I gave her access to a joint account as a sign of trust after years of trying to fix her finances and she drained it on fancy clothes. I confront her on it and she trys to placate me with sex. I say no and we go to bed. Wake up to her raping me. Don't tell me that shit is exclusive to asshole men.

Women being so selective about breeding is a good thing in the long run. Or do people want a society of dumb hunchbacks because women settled? Every other animal does the same thing. The sickly runt of the litter doesn't reproduce. Why should humanity be different? Or am I misunderstanding your point?

No one who is unattractive wants their looks match if they have the option. Just look at Ric Ocasek.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
